This Hotel offers \"location, location, location\", but little else

My girlfriend and I just returned from New York, after staying two nights at the Shoreham. I have to say that this boutique style hotel couldn't be better placed, on West 55th Street between 5th & 6th Avenue(s), surrounded by some great restaurants and only a short walk to Broadway. The lobby was modern and west-side artsy and the staff was quite friendly. There was also a handy (free) self-serve custom coffee station on the lobby level. On the negative side, our third floor room was way too small for two adults, with almost no place to sit (one chair - and no desk). It was also dark, with the only natural light coming from a tiny window overlooking an air shaft. Still, the queen-size bed was clean and confortable, the New York Times was delivered to our door each morning, the bathroom was quite large and the sundries were on the trendy side. The only other negative: We ended up having to request additional towels on the second night. While certainly nothing special, all-in-all, The Shoreham is still not a terrible place to stay over on a short hop in the Big Apple.
