I need sleep
By ,
If you stay here, you absolutely positively must not stay on the street side. We were supposed to get a king bed, got a full! located on the second floor on the street side. We were up all night!!! They know its a problem because when you go in the room the music is playing to hide the noise. The windows are like paper. We had all the AC units on, the music on, and it didn't help.

We don't look forward to go back!
By ,
Our flight arrived New York at 7am, we arrived the hotel at about 9am and asked for an early check in around noon time but was refused. We were told to check in only at 3pm and nothing earlier. We stayed for 3 nights only because it's a buy 2 get 1 free. On the 4th night we moved to another hotel nearby which offered a lower price with much bigger room and better service. Other than the location and the self-service complimentry coffee, I would say the room has a horrible view and the staff are not nice. I have to request toothbrush and toothpaste, I must say their toothbrush is the hardest toothbrush I have ever used in my life! I can hardly brush my teeth and my gum with it. If I have to pay regular price for this hotel, I wouldn't go back again.

Not the greatest experience
By ,
The room was small, but nicely decorated and clean. But we must have been there on an off night. The staff were snooty and pretentious. We got more attitude than answers to questions. Requests for directions were grudgingly answered with a minimum of detail like we were interrupting some more important task. What could be more important than your customers? There are too many other hotels in NYC to give that kind of service. Don't care what the room looks like, I can find a clean, comfortable room and good service elsewhere.

Excellent Hotel
By ,
I honestly can not say one bad thing about this hotel and the service. The hotel was nice and clean, the location is great and it's about 2 blocks from Central Park and walking disance from all the local attractions. We stayed in a Superior Queen room with a flat screen TV,we received the morning paper everday and the morning Mimosa's in the downstairs bar was great! When it was time to check out, the concierge called a taxi ( Lincoln Towncar)to take us to the Laguardia Airport. I would honestly recommend this hotel to anyone because my experience with this hotel was fabulous. La'Queschia from Dallas, Texas

Great Place to Stay
By ,
Right From check-in it was excellent. The rooms were clean and modern. The room we booked had 3 Plasma TV's, one in each room and one in the sitting room. Customer Service is great, we had a problem with connecting to the hotel-provided WIFI, tech person came up to our room and fixed it 5 minutes after call. Bathrooms were nice and big.And it has a great surrounding location The only Problem is the beds. They are just allitle to small, just enough room for two people. But not a big deal, overall room and service was great. We are defidently going back.

Funky Boutique Hotel
By ,
Fabulous location, great staff, rooms were small but chic - a very "New York" experience. You don't remember the hundreds of forgettable "cookie cutter" rooms you stay in over a lifetime of travel, but you'll remember this one. It was small, if it was a stateroom on a cruise it would be large. But all of the amenities were packed into that small space. Would stay there again. Loved the champagne/ice water on arrival.

Fantastic weekend!
By ,
We had show tickets in New York and decided to make a weekend out of it. We found the Shoreham through an online promotion and are quite glad that we did. Can't beat the location or the value! The hotel staff is just about the friendliest and most helpful that you'll ever find, and the amenities are teriffic. A fitness room, access to a computer, plasma TVs, adequate parking (valet or several nearby garages), a nice lounge and a space-age always-available coffee maker -- who could ask for more? The room plans vary around the hotel; ours was perfect for two. Extremely clean, comfortable and well designed. No complaints -- we had a great weekend and thank the folks at the Shoreham for making it possible.

Sophisticated & Cost Efficient
By ,
We really liked upon arrival being greeted after a 7 hour + flight with a glass of champagne. The staff were really friendly and gym was great. The location is fabulous one block from Tiffanys, Rockerfeller Cente and 2 blocks from Centrl Park. A lovely bar and the free cappuccinos were a welcome addition. It is all about the attention to detial and it had a lovely pleasant fell about it. Very relaxed after a day in the vibrant city.

This Hotel offers \"location, location, location\", but little else
By ,
My girlfriend and I just returned from New York, after staying two nights at the Shoreham. I have to say that this boutique style hotel couldn't be better placed, on West 55th Street between 5th & 6th Avenue(s), surrounded by some great restaurants and only a short walk to Broadway. The lobby was modern and west-side artsy and the staff was quite friendly. There was also a handy (free) self-serve custom coffee station on the lobby level. On the negative side, our third floor room was way too small for two adults, with almost no place to sit (one chair - and no desk). It was also dark, with the only natural light coming from a tiny window overlooking an air shaft. Still, the queen-size bed was clean and confortable, the New York Times was delivered to our door each morning, the bathroom was quite large and the sundries were on the trendy side. The only other negative: We ended up having to request additional towels on the second night. While certainly nothing special, all-in-all, The Shoreham is still not a terrible place to stay over on a short hop in the Big Apple.

Horrible experience!
By ,
My wife and I booked a spa-tacular getaway package at the Shoreham Hotel for Mother's Day weekend. Despite the fact that this package included guaranteed 12 noon check-in, the desk clerk informed us that our room would not be ready until at least 3pm. That didn't work especially well with the spa treatments that we'd booked to begin at 3pm and threw the entire day's schedule into disarray. Clearly the Shoreham staff didn't especially care and viewed the situation as our problem, not theirs. Their solutions (we could hang out in the lobby, we could have a worse room than the one we booked) were pathetic. In the end, we chose to cut our losses and leave. Not sure what Shoreham management thinks guaranteed means. On behalf of my wife, thanks for a great Mother's Day Shoreham!
