Do Not Disturb sign means nothing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/08
I had my Do Not Disturb sign on my door, yet was awakened by a knock at 9:30 am, which I did not acknowledge. About an hour later I heard another knock, but was in the bathroom, so also did not acknowledge. Then a little after 11 am, my phone rang. I answered and found out that it was the housekeeper, wanting to know when she could clean my room. I asked her if she had knocked before and did she notice that I had a Do Not Disturb sign on my door. She admitted that she had knocked and that she had seen the sign. I then asked her why she was calling my room, knowing that I did not wish to be disturbed. She apologized, but it was too late, she had already woken me up and disturbed my morning.
Why bother having those signs, if they are not meaningful?
The only thing I did like, is that I was able to get free wireless internet in my room, even though the hotel does not tell you this because they want you to pay for an ethernet connection. So if you do stay here and have a wireless laptop, try to get online in your room and avoid giving these people your money for nothing!
