Greyhound Bus Service
By rehman, 5/15/12
Bus travel is the cheapest option available when it comes to price. I have been traveling a lot in and out of New York. Everytime, I look for frequency of departures and the availibility of cheap fares at different times. One should not jump to conclusions, the first time something happens. Experience differs everytime you travel. I have used greyhound bus service a couple of times and I just wanted to narrate what my exprience was. To start with the staff at Port Authority terminal is really rude. They are not usually willing to help. They just keep directing you in one direction or the other. They are really slow at information desks and ticket counters. There are long lines at any given time. Once, I had to wait for 40 minutes in a queue just to get my ticket's time changed. There was only one person during a rush hour ( 4 pm) at Port Authority that is suppoesdly the busiest terminal they have. Further adding to the misery, when I was there, the one dealing at that time was really slow. He was constantly talking on the phone or with other colleagues who were just standing there, doing nothing. When some people waiting in the queue complained, he said he cannot be fast enough and he was no 'super man'. Drivers are not friendly at all. I saw a man standing outside with his luggage but the driver won't open the door because he was one minute late. You do not see usually see rules over-ruling like that especially when you are traveling. Companies should be accomodating and flexible for their customer service. Some of the charges are really stupid for example their ticket change fee. Their web ticket from NYC to Hartford, CT is 17 dollars. I had to change its time ( to the next hour ) and I paid 15 dollars just for the change of time. For an hour's difference and same day it seems ridiculous as a charge. It is almost the same amount as you would pay for a new ticket. The buses arrive usually late ( 15 to 30 minutes ) from the appointed hour that makes the service unreliable in case you are packed on schedule. In terms of quality of service, comfort and staff attitude, my experience hasn't been pleasant. Others might disagree.

Excellent Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/11
My friend and I are senior citizens we found the the staff and accommodations out standing. Antonio the desk clerk made us feel welcome. Gloria in room service with beyond customer service, she made us feel as if we were her out of town guests. Eilene Jones hotel manger welcoming, will ensure upon our return to NYC, will be at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Caro y feo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/26/11

The best Hotel in Manhattan.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/10
I love Marriott and the Marriott Marquis in NYC is the only place that I will stay. I don't care how much I have to pay. It is right in the middle of everything, clean, roomy, and the staff are very helpful. I will be there in June of 2011 and am so looking forward to the comfortable beds and great view. I would highly recommend this hotel for conferences or just for a fun visit.

Best Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/10
The best hotel in new York, great service, nice staff and great things like food and the super speed elevators. Great rooms especially on the highest floor, great View restaurant. Recommend to anyone. A little expensive but NY is always expensive.

Time tested - my favorite NYC Hotel
By steven mcclung, 5/3/10
I visited NYC for over 15 years for work and almost always stayed at the NY Marriott Marquis. The people are uniformly outstanding and the property one of the best in the world. Yes, it's a huge hotel and, as a result, sometimes difficult to manage... elevators, etc. But for a major city property, it is well managed, safe, and comfortable. Not once in all those years did I lose any property or have any issues with service staff. It IS very expensive, but NYC is generally expensive. The location is exceptional whether seeing shows, Central Park, or general tourist destinations. I recommend it very highly!

THE WORST
By Fashionista, 4/13/10
This place is the worst!!! The price does not match anything! The location is great but their prices are way out of control! There was no refridgerator inside, we paid $66.00 for TWO burgers (no drinks) and $80.00 for parking for one night- then to make matters worse the rooms are out dated and very small- just so bad for the price- there is a better hotel up the block called the Muse on 46th Street!
