Great Family Vacation Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/10
After visiting many Lake George locations as lovers of the Adirondack region, we found the best family location at Melody Manor resort. The grounds are some of the best on the lake. A large sunny grass area is perfect for a game of wiffle ball or putting a golf ball next to a lovely creek. The clay tennis courts with grapes growing up the fence are a lovely way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Adirondack Mountains. The pool is well maintained with plenty of seating and very relaxing although a little cold. As you walk through the archway of one of the two buildings on the property you enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake with the Sagamore Hotel in the distance surrounded by the mountains. Beautiful stonework from the original estate remains on the property. My sons have enjoyed countless hours with bows and arrows from nearby Fort William Henry, running up the hills, rocks and docks at this beautiful location, The lakefront is in a bay making it perfect for toddlers and safe for exploring teens in row boats and paddle boats. The hotel provides an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is served in a typical Adirondack Style room complete with fieldstone fireplace and antler chandelier. Although a little pricey, the convenience makes it worthwhile. Dinner at Villa Napoli is a family favorite for grandparents, parents and children. There are plenty of outdoor tables on the restaurant deck for enjoying a pizza lunch or a drink before dinner, A short drive away is lovely Bolton Landing with quaint shops and Ben and Jerry ice cream to close a beautiful summer day. The rooms are good. This location is not in competition with the Sagamore but way above many of the strip motels along Rte. 9N. Still family owned this resort has not become another chain or time share property. It is not recommended for those who have difficulty walking. The property is set on a hill above the lake and there are staircases to get down to the lake. The ping pong table next to the pool is in poor condition and the shuffle board court is in fair condition. otherwise it is highly recommended.

A Bit Disappointed...
...My fiance and i were so excited to spend time in upstate New York this past summer. We stayed at Melody Manor Resort, but was disappointed in our room, which was run down. We ate dinner once at the restuarant located on the grounds. Unfortunately, my boyfriend found a hair halfway through his entree. Needless to say, we just couldn't finish our meal. Although our stay at Melody Manor Resort was not quite what we had hoped for, we took pleasure in sight-seeing, swimming and other activities that Lake George/Bolton Landing has to offer.

Food suck
By jessi, 9/28/08
The rooms are allrigth. You can finf better room for the same price and defentlly cleaner. The food in the rertaurant its getting worst. Find out that the chef quit and the new one can not cook. Waiting a hour for the drinks and the service was bad. Never will go there again.

Just a wonderful experience!
By yahoo contributor, 9/24/07
If you are looking for a great place to relax, Melody Manor is the place to come. As a recent guest I must say that I had a very enjoyable time. The view of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake George, from my room, was absolutely breathtaking. There were many guests of the resort who took advantage of the fine weather to enjoy boating in Lake George. Others, such as myself, walked the fine grounds of Melody Manor. The room was quite comfortable and very clean. There also was a great Italian restaurant on the grounds--The Villa Napoli. The food and service were absolutely wonderful. I would like to say that this experience was enhanced by the wonderful owners--Damian and Rose Alessi. They really care about what they are doing.

Not good for morning people!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/06
I stayed at Melody Manor over Columbus Day weekend 2006. I thought that the room was very nice and was not expensive. My only complaint was the lack of availability of caffeine. There were no coffee makers in the room, no coffee/tea in the office and the vending machine was out of Pepsi and Diet Pepsi the entire weekend. Not good if you need a jump start of caffeine to start your day!!! I suggest that they invest in coffe makers for each room and that would complete an otherwise good experience.

Disgusted! I would never go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/06
After traveling for 3 hours, waiting in the lobby for 15 mins to get checked in was unexcusable. The parking area had an extremely strong odor of skunk. The balcony screen was ripped, therefore we could not keep it open without bugs entering the room. No room service was offered to us, and a dark barlike restaurant is not my idea of a first class italian restaurant. To my husband's disgust, the coffee that was offered as a free amenitie was non-existent,unless you prefer the last ounce of the pot, and the breakfast was nowhere to be found, except for the old box of doughnuts that was near the empty coffee pot. We were totally disappointed, and left a day early, with no refund available.

Poor customer service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/06
Did not like this place at all. The first room we were in was extremely small. Should have surmised that space was an issue when the door to our room opened out instead of in. The first morning awoke to a bunch of ants. Wanted to check out, but refund was refused. The owner was extremely rude and his comments were insulting. Another room which was more satisfactory was finally offered, but the poor manner in which we were treated by the owner made for a very bad experience. Would not return.
