5 reviews for High Peaks Resort, Lake Placid
Out of this world resort!
By Michael, 09/19/09
What a place to stay! Resort was incredible, service was friendly & fast. Pet friendly resort and town. Almost every shop allowed dogs. We stayed in their rooms on Mirror lake, which were about 40 feet from the water so you had an incredible view of the lake and mountains. Free paddle boats, canoes, row boats and kayaks for your convience. Outside pool right there for your use or go into the lake if you dare. Room service was fast and very accomodating, even late at night! Plus they whipped up a special request in just a couple of minutes. Very friendly town and very responable if you look around for the shops or restaurants in your price range. Everything was 5 star quality, right down to the toiletrees. You won't be bored here as there as so many things to do. Or if you just want to relax and the some R&R, this is the place. We had a conference for a week at the resort and everything was top of the line and easy to access. Food was incredible at the resort.

Would be scared to book again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/07
I booked for a getaway package on August 30th for September 13 to September 15/07. I was told by the lady receptionist that only the 3rd week in September was blocked off for meetings. Much to our dismay/shock, and great disappointment, we were not able to eat dinner in the Terrace Dining Room on either of our two nights stay. A conference (Health) was being held at the same time as we were staying there and the Dining Room was only available for them. Had we known this, we definitely would not have booked at that time. Eating in the Dancing Bears Lounge was not suitable for me as I am a double amputee and the tables are much too low.

wonderful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/07
Visiting my Godson, an employee at Paul Smith's College. Booked three rooms. Booking and check-in were a breeze. Our rooms were immaculate and lovely. I am surprised to read other reviews about rooms being "pricey." You get what you pay for and these were lovely rooms in a fantastic location. Amenities great including live entertainment, nice bar with good prices, lots of little extras in our rooms, great parking....I can't imagine what else they could do for the money. We had a wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat.
