a real secret!
By sarah, 09/29/09
this is an absolutely fabulous place tucked away. we met some wonderful poeple ! we enjoyed a scrumptious dinner and then the following morning a huge delicious breakfast. after we paid our bill, we were sent on our way with a loaf of freshly baked bread! what a great place. we plan to return next fall for an even longer stay!

Been Nine Times and Counting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/08
My children insist we go back to Hemlock Hall every summer. We usually rent the Master Suite which has a screened-in porch balcony that overlooks the hill leading to the lake. There is where we have our own little happy hour before dinner. Paul is a fantastic. He accommodates vegetarian alternatives for dinner, just give them notice in the morning. When you enter the foyer, you'll feel a sense of peace. No blaring TV's. The sandy beach area is nice and there's a beautiful dock. My son also prefers Hemlock Hall to Disney World hands down. The guests that come back year after year (like our family) are a testimony to Paul's management of the resort.

Great food, service and ambience. Met a great group of folks and we've been returning ever since. Famly-friendly and accessible to all parts of the Adirondacks. Blue Mountain Lake is one of the prettiest of them all. Very peaceful, few powerboats, canoe and kayak friendly.

Love every minute we are there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/06
I have been going to Hemlock Hall for 20 years with my mom, dad and sisters. When I got married to my husband he started coming too! This year we are going to be bringing our six month old too! We love the beach and swimming--no matter how hot or cold the water is we are in it! Paul Provost is an amazing host! He has been so kind to our family! The food is fantastic all served family style! The staff is very courteous and kind. Thank you to Paul, his wife and all the staff at Hemlock Hall for everything! We can't imagine a better vacation!

Another year- just as great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/06
Like many many others I have been going to Hemlock Hall since I was a teen- have grandkids I take now. Laid back, friendly, consistent- even to the menu and wonderful food and service. Probably not a more beautiful lake in the United States.

Surprise Discovery
By Billy454, 01/02/06
My wife and I were taking our first real vacation through the Adirondack Mountains when we came upon Hemlock Hall. That was 7 months ago, and I still think about our 3 wonderful days there. Paul was wonderful, the food was great, and our cottage view was spectacular. We had such a serene time at HH that reminiscing is by itself relaxing. We hope to return next year!

Hospitality Galore!
By Kathy, 07/11/05
Hemlock Hall is an excellent vacation spot for any age and is espcially family friendly. Paul Provost and his staff are superb. The people we met during our stay have been coming back for literally years! That in itself speaks volumes. Thanks Paul, for your generosity and kindness.

16 years and counting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/05
I've been going to hemlock hall since my mother was first pregnant with me. I'm 16 years old and have gone there every summer. This truly is my favorite week of the year, and I count down the day until I get to go again. There usually is at least one other person my age, so my parents get to go off and hike or swim without having to worry about me and my siblings being bored. The scenery is breathtaking, and if your every lucky enough to be there during a thunderstorm you'll get to see how beautiful those are too. There’s so much to do here, and it’s great for the whole family. There are hiking trails, a private lakeside beach, all kinds of boats you can use (kayaks, canoes, row boats, sail boats). The meals are also to die for. The owner Paul is a very nice guy, and cooks great meals, even his bread has a secret ingredient that makes it the best bread ever. Overall everything at hemlock hall is perfect for a peaceful and enjoyable vacation!

Adirondack Immersion
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/05
Our one stay at Hemlock hall was memorable for the convivial system of seating at the included meals. At each meal, we were directed to a different seating arrangement, allowing us to meeet a variety of guests. While the food was standard American comfort food, it was apparently exactly what the returning guests had insisted on. "No menu changes!" was the dry from the repeat guests, some of whom had been coming since their parents brought them as children.
