Great in the Garment District

I will start this off by stating that we weren't originally supposed to stay here, but I'm so glad that the company I booked with overbooked the other hotel, because our stay was fabulous!
I'd heard the horror stories about small rooms in New York...that isn't so here. Our room with one king bedwas a wonderful size, the bed was super comfy, the entire hotel is smoke free, and breakfast, while not superb, was hot, substantial, and free.
I would have ranked everything perfectly if not for one inattentive guest service agent - the one who checked us in. Everyone else was amazingly helpful and nice. Also, the brochure of the hotel in the room said that the hotel had a hot tub, but it didn't. It did, however, have a nice computer with printer and free DSL so that you can print your boarding passes or what have you.
This hotel is only a few blocks away from Penn Station NY, which makes it really easy to get to from airports via public transportation. (We were able to get there from Newark for $15 on the AirTrain.) Also, there is a small subway outlet on the corner which will easily transport you to Times Square or Rockefeller Center if you don't want to make the walk. (It is very easy to walk to Times Square or Rockefeller Center...it just takes some time.)
It is also really close to great shopping (it is in the garment district afterall), restaurants - try Scotty's for some yummy grub, and the Empire State Building.
My favorite eatery - though off-topic - was Serendipity 3 for Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, accessible via the subway.
Overall, this hotel was such a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely stay there again.
