Great cottages right on the lake!
We loved staying at Bonnie View in mid-June. My husband's family used to come to Lake George when he was a little boy, so we wanted to bring our kids here. The location is excellent: far enough away from bustling Lake George that you can relax, yet close enough to get to for anything you need. The cabins are very simple and rustic, as lakeside cabins are supposed to be. We had one with a view of the lake. Everything was very clean and comfortable, if modest. The staff were friendly and helpful, the other people we spoke with there were friendly family people. My daughter enjoyed fishing off the dock, and playing in the lake. Because the lake water is COLD, they have a modest, heated outdoor pool where my kids swam happily in the heat of the afternoon. We'd stay here again, and recommend it to others.
The tiny town of Bolton Landing is just up the road. There is a supermarket there where you can buy food to cook/eat at your cabin. There's a laundromat, but it closes at 8 pm. (There are also laundromats in Lake George and Queensbury, but they all close about 8-8:30. The Great Escape is a fun amusement park in Lake George. We mainly spent time in or on the lake. Very relaxing.
