Will never go back

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have nver been treated as I was on Friday evening, October 12, 2007.
I am a member of a non profit, tax exempt organization who has held statewide conferences at this hotel as well as having our Exec Bd meetings.
While in town for a Bd meeting I had a tax exempt form from my organization which I was told by reservations (earlier that day) would be acceptable. After trying to check in for my 149 dollar room I was told the form would not be accepted although it has been for the past several years.
Even after speaking with the manager at 5:30 p.m., I was told that it would only be accepted if I paid cash...they would not accept my American Express Gold Card or a check. For the first time in my long business career, I paid cash for a hotel room...rather than try to find another hotel after a four hour drive.
This is outrageous treatment...I was told that the hotel had been "audited"...this is NOT MY PROBLEM.
Marriott, Albany..you have forever lost my personal business and that of my organization.
Beware of the unfriendly, officious mangement and check in. Pool was also in need of cleaning.
