Not what I expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/11
For all the hype about the Hotel St. Francis, I was not prepared for the dated and folksy tiny room. These tight quarters would be expected in an old New York hotel, not relaxing Santa Fe. Decor was more calico &eyelet than Southwest. Service was marginal. Food was good. Wouldn't stay here again. Much nicer places for the money

very Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/10
ambiance was great! everything else was poor. hotel, bar and restaurant staff need customer service training badly. rooms small, but sink at the bottom of our bed!!!!???? dirty glasses never replaced,we brought plastic cups from the water in the lobby up to our room.members of our party had to go and find staff to get our orders, coffee, checks etc. in the bar and restaurant. the restaurant served luke warm food after a lenghtly wait and said they had no soup spoons, only 1 dessert left and served coffee once with grounds in it and never came to offer more. Hotel St. Francis you could be so much more.......!

Great Old World Feel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/21/10
We stayed two nights, both were wonderful, the bed was great, not too hard, not too soft. We loved the hardwood floors, the antique looking furniture, the rustic feel and opening the windows. I would say the only thing we found not to par was the cooling system, we just opened the windows at night for cool air. Hotel St. Francis has an antique feel to it, very quiet and comfortable. The staff was excellent and fun and always had an answer for us. Close to great shopping and dining. They do charge for parking in their parking lot, but validated our parking across the street and made sure we would not get a city ticket. We had drinks at the bar and found the one waitress a bit overwhelmed and busy, but we were able to take the drinks out on the patio and what fun we had. Overall wonderful.

Very Bad Experience
By Disappointed, 8/22/09
Location is the only positive for this hotel. The rooms are small and cramped. The hotel was undergoing renovations that severely impacted the service. The elevators didn't work, the resturant was closed and many of the facilities were not available. They didn't advertise the status of their hotel so we were expecting the quality and level of service protrayed on Yahoo and their webpage.. The service at the front desk and lounge were marginal at best. There are many better places to stay in Santa Fe than this hotel.

Worst Ever
By Gary, 5/26/08
Worst experience I have ever had. I would never stay here again. Room was nice and large, however the regrigerator did not work, air did not cool. I called and complained to front desk and asked to be moved to a different room or be given a credit they refused to even change rooms. No ice machine on the second floor had to go to the bar and get it ourselves. Hotel was beautiful but that does not make up for the horrible service and staff.. Even spoke to manager and she did nothing to make the situation better.

Charming, but the rooms are way too small
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/08
The Hotel itself is quite lovely and the location is perfect for exploring the Plaza area of Santa Fe. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The room, however, was way too small even for the discounted price through priceline. The double bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was so small it was hard to use. The sink was in the corner of the bedroom, which was awkward. The public areas of the hotel are comfortable and provide some room for sitting and reading or using the internet, since that wasn't possible in the tiny room. My daughter and I shared the room but even if I had been alone it would have felt cramped.

Great Experience
By Vickie, 1/15/08
We recently stayed at the Hotel St. Francis and had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quaint. The location was perfect for walking to shops and eateries. We will recommend it to our friends as well as stay again when we visit Santa Fe in the future. The one surprise we experienced was that the room was a tad bit cramped, although it did make the stay a bit more romantic.

Bed Bug infestation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
I just returned from staying at the hotel St. Francis unfortunately there where bed bugs that came home with us and I have bed bug bite welts from the one night stay. Yes, this hotel has bed bugs. I called to speak to a manager when I arrived home and was told there is no manager on duty. I have about 80 bites all over my body that are turning in welts and my husband has bites all over his body as well.

Over all nice hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/07
Dont eat breakfast in the hotel. Take the walking tour with Marilyn. Eat at Cafe Paris for dinner, expensive but great food and service. Had plumbing clog in bathtub. Response was quick but not completly fixed, backed up again breifly. Great location, parking across the street was $5 per day. Lots of eating places.

they gave away our room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/07
Lovely place, but they gave away our room. Now, we realized that happened sometimes, but they offered no compensation whatsoever. Just, we're sorry. The tea and wine and cheese in the afternoon that is advertised in the afternoon is misleading because it is not included in the price of the room, but quite pricey. We were disappointed in this stay. Hopefully, this is not a routine happening
