Westin Governor Morris, Morristown

Slighly icky spiritual refreshment spin on an otherwise comfortable, if largely beige, hotel. They messed up our reservation 3 times but despite that, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar staff exquisite and the stay was very relaxing.

My family and I (8 persons) attended the Mother's Day Brunch this past Sunday, May 13, 2007. We had done so a few years back, enjoyed it and decided once again to celebrate this special holiday at the Governor Morris Inn brunch. We were happy with our seating arrangement and the the food display looked appetizing. We were very disappointed in the food selection. The seafood bar looked appealing and some of the offerings were very good. But 6 of us tried the raw clams on the half-shell. We all found them to taste spoiled.They were not cold and were probably beginning to be rancid. In fact my nephew had to leave the table to spit one out. We ate some of the rest of the food, but found nothing to be outstanding. The brunch was mediocre at best. We left the hotel vowing never to return. We also were concerned that one or all of us that had eaten the clams would become ill later on. Thank God no one did. The hotel/brunch has gone down hill. Don't recommend it at all. I might add that we had a 3:30 PM reservation. The ballroom had many empty tables which was a stark difference from the number in attendance a few years back. Turnout was low.

This hotel is one of the best Morristown has to offer...The food is fantastic...the bed is heavenly...I am so pleased that our holiday party is again at the Governor Morris...The holiday party was handled with grace and class and an abundance of cheer...this is a first rate hotel.

Food was delicious. We had a Copeland Platter from the raw bar. It was enough for three hungrey people. I had the Foie Gras Burger and their amazing Fries. The short ribs were also succulent. Service was lackluster. Feels like hotel service. Its the only thing keeping Copeland from 4 stars. Very pricey.
