What a dump
By HOTDOT51, 11/10/09
We were sent an offer to stay at Bally's Atlantic City. What they do is put you in the OLD Claridge's. IT is a dump. The carpets had burn holes, the windows were so dirty you could not see outside. IT is a classic bate and swtich. Do not go there. Many other nice hotels for the money

2 Thumbs down!
By Linda, 09/18/09
Just came back from staying at Paris in Las Vegas, had the Perfect Vacation! Decided to head down to AC for a few days, always liked Bally's so I booked 3 nights...drove 6 hours, arriving at noon told room should be ready in about 1 hour or so...checked back, no room, checked every hour, still no room... finally room was ready at 6pm. Next day gone almost all day, came back to shower and go out for evening, room never cleaned called housekeeping and someone came up and handed me some towels, same the next day, on the day we were to depart housekeeping was there at 9 am to clean the room! Requested upper room with ocean view, got a view of the roof! Most of the restaurants were closed. The only good thing was the bed was extremely comfortable... Will never stay there again!!!!!!!!! Worst experience I've ever had...not how I wanted to spend my vacation, begging for amendities I'm paying for!!!!!

Ballys on the way DOWN !!!
By Don, 09/04/09
We were very excited to stay at Ballys it had always been one of our favorites but another casino was giving us far better deals to stay with them. We decided to forgo our better deal and return to Ballys and was put in the Claridge Tower we were SHOCKED !!! It was no better than a cheap hotel room we complained and got a room inside Ballys and it was no better we were facing a brick wall !! Ballys did not care to accomodate us so we called THE OTHER casino hotel told them what happened and they told us to come on down they had a comped room for us. We always enjoyed our stay at Ballys but I can't see us staying there again. We asked at check-in to be taken care of and tipped the woman and if this is what they call taking care of someone they leave a lot to be desired. I would NEVER recommend Ballys to anyone !!!

never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/09
When we checked in the staff was very friendly and even gave us an upgraded room for no additional cost. We get to the room and it was just an average room, but the bathroom was disgusting! The shower was just nasty. The next morning, despite having the Do Not Disturb sign out, housekeeping walked in on us!!!! Thank God we were dressed. They told us that we had already checked out....we were staying 2 days and certainly wouldn't have checked out before we cleared the room. We cleared it up with the front desk, but housekeeping NEVER came back to clean the room. We had NO towels for our second day & the next morning. When we called for towels we were told that they didn't have any clean, they were waiting for a delivery of towels. When we called back later, we were left on hold, several times!!!! thankfully we had beach towels from home that we hadn't used so we could take our showers. Then when we go to check out they try to charge us over $100 more than we owed!! The rectified it quickly but not without an attitude!!! Never again!! The room rates are outrageous for this kind of service!! Stay at a cheap hotel and walk a block or 2 to the boardwalk. Also, the food at 6ix Bistro was horrible!! We stood on a long line, while larger parties kept getting picked from behind us to be seated. Just unacceptable.

Disappointed with Bally's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/09
We saw a billboard as we drove in to Atlantic City...."At Bally's, you'll always lose, if you don't treat the staff right"! Seriously?? The staff was not friendly, if you had an issue or a question, they acted as if you were bothering them. We stayed in the Claridge Tower and the room was small. We had a brick wall as a view even though we requested an ocean view. The bed was comfy, thats about all I can think was good about the place, besides the location on the Boardwalk. Surprised that they don't give you tokens for the casino to get you going. Also surprised that if you wanted to use the pool you had to pay 10.00 a day! Same for the spas. Also had to pay 12.99 per day for internet. Had a few unfriendly servers at Bistro 6. When we went to get served, they all stand around there and continue on conversations with the other staff and after a few minutes, then they acknowledge you. Very rude people working there. The menu's in all the restaurants are very limited.

Won't be back after at least 10 years.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/09
Casino's profits are off in part to the lack of appeal for their long time patrons. For example, my rewards coupons use to be for the middle of the week (which I prefer to go), now it is Friday, Saturday or Sunday. They know I will not use them. I have been there through the week and it is dead. I wonder why? Then there is the lack of resturarnts open to the public. My favorite was pickles. How can any of the employees depend on their whims as to when they will be open. The last time I went was on a Thursday and only one resturant was open with a very long line at 8pm. Then there is the casino floor. I don't think anyone should have to wait an hour (after lighting up all the machines around me) to get service. Balley's, it takes money to make money or have you not heard that before?

Heavenly beds!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/09
I stayed for 2 nights and the bed was simply heavenly. (slept like a baby) My room was in the Tower, very clean, bathroom & room very clean. Lovely view. Staff was friendly, polite, helpful. I had no complaints. Quick checkout made life much easier - all I had to do was complete a card and drop it in the drop box in the lobby. I will definitely stay here again and have absolutely no complaints!

BALLYS SINKING FAST
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/09
I went to ballys for the day on saturday 6/13/09 and was very disapointed! My friends and I always loved pickles deli and found that the menu is now limited, the food quality went downhill and the restaurant was dirty. In addition, I don't think anyone cleans the menu's anymore. Very sad when there's something a little special about a place and it dies. The casino bathroom on the main floor was very dirty also. I hope Bally's can survive. They still have a nice selection of slots and we do win some jackpots. Overall, I won't stay there overnight anymore and now lunch there is out too, but I will still visit the casino, because simply, I like the slot machines there.

The fall of a good casino...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/09
My family and I have been going to Bally's park casino for about 20 years. We've seen it at it's best and now at it's worse. The whole gimmick of member status (gold/diamond ect...) that Harrahs has put in place put a damper on the casino experience for us and I would imagine other people. When you go to a casino you like to gamble everywhere. Could you imagine that your hundred dollars are less valuable than another person's $100? Someone else can gamble at a machine but you can't because you did not earn it yet! you did not earn the privilege to blow you money!!!! That in a nut shell does not make sense ...I want to have a good time and have free run to gamble were I may as long as i have the cash to do so! Since harrahs took over the food service declined, some of the hosts are ignorant and rude and marketing/management sucks. So good luck Bally's Park...I'll go and gamble my money were there is no discrimination on what status I may hold and where no one would ever tell me to look at a line and the floor and not step over it because I do not hold a diamond card.
