Holiday Inn Portsmouth, Portsmouth

We were put into a room with the hotel central HVAC on the roof above. It was like sleeping in a train station (for the sleep we got). The front desk drones were like talking to mannequins...like being awake most of the night was a good thing....Never Again....

Located near the highway and has easy access to downtown...just a 3 minute drive. Had breakfast a the hotel restaurant ...very good but spent $14 on the meal. Nice room, king size bed with lounge chair and ottoman....nice place to sit and relax. Coffee maker in room, but no refrigerator or microwave.

We had no reason to expect anything much out of the "restaurant" at this Holiday Inn. It was about as unpreposessing as possible. Imagine our surprise when it turned out to be the best meal we had during our entire 9-day vacation, most of which was spent in downtown Bar Harbor. From the teriyaki chicken to the fried clams, the veggies to the onion rings, everything was superb. Truly, stunningly good; I can't recommend it enough. The rest of the hotel? Was a Holiday Inn. A little better than some, I suppose, though I wouldn't want a room on the 6th floor; near as we could tell, you get the elevator to 5, then climb a flight of stairs to 6. No, thanks! Anyway... just wanted to make sure the world knew how great this food was. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor - stop here. The ambiance may be pretty much nonexistent, but the food is totally worth it anyway. :-)

When i reserved the room "biggest and best they had" I was assured there would be enough room for 5. We ordered our dinner at Cranberries (the hotels resteraunt) then waited an hour before the kids got their mac and cheese. At bed time we caled for a cotfor the kids one slpt in a chair and the other 2 on the floor because the elevtor didn't go to our floor.Needless to say the whole experience was awful!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this experienceto any one with a family.

From the moment i checked in i was greeted with respect , I had dinner at there resturant and there food was excellent , I enjoyed the friendly enviroment in the lounge that just made my evening, and the complimentary happy hour was a great addition to the value i earned , Great Hotel would defenitly recomand it ,

On the internet is says : Holiday Inn Portsmouth, NH rates from $117.00. I do not see any rate that low. Why is this here if it is not true?? I tried travolicity, orbitz, cheap tickets, no luck!!
