Worst Possible Stay
My husband and I choose to stay at this hotel for the last night of our honeymoon after purchasing a LivingSocial deal that the hotel was offering.
Upon arrival, the front desk staff was less than welcoming, but the place looked really nice, so we remained hopeful. We went to go check out the indoor poor to take a quick dip before dinner, but you couldn't even see the sides of the pool, much less the bottom. We skipped the pool.
After settling in, we went downstairs to the attached restaurant "the Breakers" for dinner, only to experience more poor service.
Our waitress did brought out each drink and plate separately. By the time I finally got my starter salad, a half hour into dinner, it came out with thick glaze on it intended for meat, instead of salad dressing.
My portabella fettuccini alfredo was missing the mushrooms, and the chicken had clearly been microwaved. When I spoke with the manager, he didn't even deny that it was!
Discouraged with the whole experience, we went back to our room. I became physically ill from the food, and tried to lay down to settle my stomach. After 20 minutes of lying on the horrible bed my hip started going numb (I'm 27, not normal!) It became clear that I could not sleep on that bed all night, so we packed up and checked out, only 4 hours after we checked in (with about 2 1/2 hours spent in the horrible restaurant ran by the hotel.
After calling about refunding our money, I was told that we could not have a refund because we violated the "cancellation policy", because we did not notify them a week ahead of time that we would not be staying the whole night.
The whole experience was extremely frustrating, and an unfortunate way to end our honeymoon.
I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if they payed me.
