Worst Possible Stay
By disappointed, 10/6/11
My husband and I choose to stay at this hotel for the last night of our honeymoon after purchasing a LivingSocial deal that the hotel was offering. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was less than welcoming, but the place looked really nice, so we remained hopeful. We went to go check out the indoor poor to take a quick dip before dinner, but you couldn't even see the sides of the pool, much less the bottom. We skipped the pool. After settling in, we went downstairs to the attached restaurant "the Breakers" for dinner, only to experience more poor service. Our waitress did brought out each drink and plate separately. By the time I finally got my starter salad, a half hour into dinner, it came out with thick glaze on it intended for meat, instead of salad dressing. My portabella fettuccini alfredo was missing the mushrooms, and the chicken had clearly been microwaved. When I spoke with the manager, he didn't even deny that it was! Discouraged with the whole experience, we went back to our room. I became physically ill from the food, and tried to lay down to settle my stomach. After 20 minutes of lying on the horrible bed my hip started going numb (I'm 27, not normal!) It became clear that I could not sleep on that bed all night, so we packed up and checked out, only 4 hours after we checked in (with about 2 1/2 hours spent in the horrible restaurant ran by the hotel. After calling about refunding our money, I was told that we could not have a refund because we violated the "cancellation policy", because we did not notify them a week ahead of time that we would not be staying the whole night. The whole experience was extremely frustrating, and an unfortunate way to end our honeymoon. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if they payed me.

Warning...Not a Full-Service Hotel
By Deborah, 12/9/08
We were staying here for two days on a business trip to our company headquarters. Our airport shuttle left us off just after 9:30 PM, check-in went fine, but we were informed that we were too late for food in the hotel and directed to the vending machine instead because there are no restaurants open in the area in the winter. Room seemed basic and small with the typical Marriott type beds. There was one problem, substantial mold in the bathroom. Next morning before being picked-up, we went for breakfast in their restaurant, however it was closed for the winter. They had a smaller breakfast restaurant which was also closed. The lobby had coffee, a small selection of danish, but no place to eat it and no one even there to service it. I asked the desk person if there was anyplace local I could walk to, and the reply was only in town. Nothing on the beach is open. So there is NO SERVICE at this supposedly full-service hotel. Our company will rebook elsewhere from here on as we were deceived.

Enjoyable Week at the Ashworth Hotel
By Kathy, 8/22/08
We had a great time. We rented a room for my grandaughter, my husband and me at the Ashworth by the Sea on Hampton Beach, NH the second week in August. The weather was terrible but we had a blast. My grandaughter loved the pool and she could swim for hours. The food was great in the coffee shop and the breakfast buffet. The dinner buffet was delicious espcecialy the new carving station. We enjoyed the entertainment in the lounge but especially liked the sandbar for dinner, entertainment and fireworks on Wednesday. The staff was professional and did a terrific job. The hotel was clean. I would recommend the Ashworth for any family vacation. I almost forgot the most important thing the view from the oceanfront room was spectacular.

The Most Perfect Day!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/08
I was recently married at the Ashworth, and it was the most perfect day. Cheri our wedding coordinator was spot on and made the day. It started with our rehearsal dinner the night before. The food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. The new suites are wonderful. We stayed the night before enjoyed the bar and went back to our new suite with a couple of friends. The next morning we had breakfast in the coffee shop and it was delicious. After breakfast we went back to the suite and had the family up for the day with the bridesmaids to get hair and make-up done. The new suites are large enough to do hair and enjoy company. After our wedding coordinator got us down stais for the most perfect ceremony and reception. Everything was so organzied and the food was fantastic. I would suggest the Ashworth for a wedding any time of the year!

What a great function!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/08
We recently attended a corporate function at the newly improved Ashworth. Dinner was fantastic - the service was terrific. The buffet menu featured delicious seafood, roasted pork, chicken & pasta, with delicious fresh vegetables and salad. We saved room for dessert too and really enjoyed the selection of treats. We were offered a tour of the newly refurbished rooms and really enjoyed the beautiful new decor - what a difference! The rooms look so comfortable. We'll definately come back to stay and dine again. You can't beat the location, and the views from the deck are incredible. It was delightful!

Loved the Ashworth!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/17/08
Went to Hampton for a family wedding and stayed at the Ashcroft. We loved it - great room, food, service, valet parking, etc. We've already made reservations for July so we can enjoy the beach. Can't wait to go back!

Dirty room and bad service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/07
I am currently staying in this hotel right now (9/07) and thankfully its only for a weekend. The staff here is very unfriendly and acts like you are constantly bothering them. The rooms are not kept up well. The most disgusting part though was all the hair in the bathroom. It was everywhere. Even stuble from a man shaving was in the shower. Do they even clean at all???

Surprised at the old reviews still posted
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/07
Too bad those old reviews are still showing first, the hotel is under new management and there have been some amazing changes made to bring the hotel up to today's standards. The rooms are stunning, with a lot of attention paid to detail. The lobby is tastefully done and the art work fits the location. The dining room is very nice, with an old world charm. There has also been a lot of changes in the management with the catering staff seeing a huge improvement. They are very willing to work with the customer from menu planning to decorations for the event. The hotel is a resort hotel on an extremely busy beach, which explains some of the earlier comments about people not dressed properly. Give the hotel a shot, a lot has happened in the past year and they are anxious to show off the improvements.
