I had a ton of fun
By ,
I really liked MGM Grand- but I did have issues with the fact that it seemed like the place was extremely over crowded. There were wall to wall people everywhere- it seemed I had little time to breath when I walked around the Casino floor. The walls were thin so there were a few times the loud neighbors woke me up, but other wise the room was fine. I loved KA and the other shows, also a very awesome pool but the water was cold. Another beef I had was the fact they charge $25 to use the gym- that pissed me off because that should be included, or at least have another low budget gym. I am most certainly going back again real soon. I enjoyed my time at MGM Grand.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
By ,
We originally decided to stay here because we went to see the cirque du soliel show KA and thought it would be convienient not to have to travel up and down the strip when the show was over. The show was great but the hotel itself is the worst I have ever stayed at. The walls are extremely thin so we were woken up every hour by our screaming neighbors. When we called the front desk to do something, they only told our neighbors to keep it down. They didn't offer an alternate room or anything. Not recommended if you plan on getting any kind of sleep. My friend had the same experience with the MGM. Also, it is old and the room is not what was advertised on their website. Best to look elsewhere.

Disappointing
By ,
Of the dozen or so places I've stayed in Vegas, this was the worst. The room had not been maintained and there were too many glitches. The hot water went out frequently, the buttons on the safe were too worn to read, the power button on the TV was broken, the sink clogged, the grout was crumbling and dirty, the duvet cover was dirty and sharp harware was sticking out of the wall where a painting had once hung. On the bright side, the service was pretty good and there are plenty of good places to eat. I asked for a room close to the elevator and got the 1st room. All in all, it was not a great value. I've stayed in both more and less expensive hotels and their prices typically reflect what they offer. I expected much more for what I paid.

The rooms are lacking
By ,
For what we paid I would expect more in the room, maybe at least a coffee make, but then they couldn't charge you 4 bucks for a cup of coffee. If you don't do room service ($$$$) it is quite a stroll to the nearest coffee in the morning. The room itself is nothing special. Of course if you're not there to spend any time in the room you're better off staying somewhere less expensive (there are plenty of others). The room was definitly not worth the cost......

Love \"The Lion\"
By ,
We have been staying at the MGM Grand during Thanksgiving every year for the past 5 years. Though initially worried about the size of the casino and the amount of walking that might be required, we found that the casino is laid out very well and we like the roominess not found in many other casinos. Check in at the airport is quick and efficient, and I highly recommend it (it's at the end of the baggage claim area). The rooms are very well kept, though if you have one at the end, it is quite a walk to the elevators. You might want to ask for a room ending in a number no higher than 20. That would be about 10 doors down from the elevator. We have stayed in Deluxe Rooms (that's the regular ones), Bungalow Suites, and Celebrity Spa Suites. If you are going to be there more than 3 day, I recommend the Bungalow Suites. The are much roomier than the Deluxe Rooms and lower priced than the Celebrity Spa Suites which are really no different except for the spa tub. We have been really pleased with staff members in all areas of the hotel, from the check-in staff to the casino pay window tellers. Everyone is courteous and efficient. The maids who have serviced our rooms are very responsive to any requests. All in all, the MGM Grand offiers a terrific experience at reasonable prices. It has rooms for almost any income level and has a wide range of eating places from pizza joints to high end gourmet restaurants. Also, it is near the airport, a plus in my view as we are the first to be dropped off and do not have to head to the airport too early on check-out day. The monorail has a station in the hotel, which makes it easy to get to other parts of the strip quickly. You can also catch "The Deuce" bus if there is no rush. The hotel is also within walking distance of many other casinoes and hotels, including NY, NY, Monte Carlo, Tropicana, The City Center area, and even Bellagio. You can also walk to the Excalibur and take the shuttle train to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. There are many cheaper places to stay in Vegas but I highly recommend the MGM Grand as it is reasonbly priced and offers a complete Vegas experience on it's own as well as quick access to most strip locations. We love :The Lion" as we call it, and hope you will too. Have a roaring good time.

oct 5 thru oct 8 2010
By ,
Check in was relatively fast and the room was ready when we checked in about 1:30. Beds comfortable, clean room. Stayed in tower. Friendly, but very expensive to eat there. Many people commented about the meals being really expensive. Brfst Buffet is 18+ /person. I didn't eat the buffet for other meals but only this one time. Table games are $10 and up mostly but sometimes one or two will go to 5 in morning. Casino is confusing and you may have trouble finding the same machine twice. Only one elevator in main section and you may have to walk a long, long way to your room. Everything was comfortable. The hotel connects to the monorail but you have to walk a long distance to get there, I suggest the $12 fare that you can ride all day on and off. Room service was prompt for such a large hotel ,10 to 20 min. They allow everything to be charged to the room. They chg $10 resort fee/day and I didn't use anything to be charged this but it is mandatory.

I love staying at MGM Grand, Everyone there treats you good no matter If your a high roller or playing the penny slots. My First time there, I was blown away by how huge this hotel was and how nice it is. We went to Studio 54 for a night out and had a great time there. I'll Deff. go back there again.

Just got back and can't wait to go back again!
By ,
I have to say I was nervous after reading some of these reviews that we would be staying there but it turned out great. The people that worked there that I had encountered were very nice and helpful. The pool(s) are amazing and that lazy river is the best if you have stayed at the Monte Carlo before this blows their lazy river away! Our room was very clean we stayed in the West Wing and really liked it. I could not figure out what some other reviewer was talking about when he said you enter through the bathroom. Well when you come in the first thing you see is the sink and vanity and then to the right was the shower and toilet but they are both behind frosted doors so you don’t see that when you come in by the way the shower there was so nice and the bed was wonderful too. Yes the restaurants are a bit pricy. We thought the food over at Diego was good but too money for the Sampler platter and you really don’t get much at all. Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill was real good great wood fire Pizza. Outside eatery by the pool food looked great but again kind of pricey but it seemed it’s just pricy to eat at the hotels so I won't hold that against the MGM. We got a great deal for our room if you sign up on their website they we send you deal alerts. We got a deal on the room and then we got 2 for one daily buffet passes so we did go to the buffet twice it was ok but I don’t think if we had to pay for both of us we wouldn’t have gone back a 2nd time it wouldn’t have been worth the money. Overall we had a great time and we really liked the MGM and would go back for sure!

Not a safe hotel bellhop stole our luggage
By ,
We stayed at MGM grand for a business trip. Our first day there the hotel tub backed up and toilet overflowed. On our last day there we left 4 piece of our luggage with the bellhop. We watched him bungy cord up all 4 of our bags together and we also had opened 2 pieces of our luggage in front of him to take some clothes out. In my bag was a dooney and bourke handbag, glasses, shoes, clothes, jewlery etc. My husband had opened 1 of his bags as well w/ 2 expensive men shoes in it etc. When we went to pick up our luggage these 2 bags out of our 4 bags we suddenly missing. They had no explanation for us. We waited over an hour for a manager to come down and talk to us. Who was horrible by the way no personality and did not even apologize for loosing our bags!!! Currently they say that they are investigating it. I'm demanding a full refund from the hotel of our $2000 of goods stolen from us by this hotel. The idiot at lost and found tried to tell me that the hotel has no surveillance cameras. OMG! In conclusion horrible stay and not a safe place to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
