Terrible Customer Service Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/09
Just got back from Ceaser's Palace. I was not expecting the "less than expected" treatment. I was surprised that in this time of economic turmoil that one would "exceed customer expectation" considering 'Customers" are the reason they are employed. I stayed in late and requested housekeeping to turn my room and replenish it with new towels and sheets. I left for 1 hour and a half and I tried to come back to my room. My room card will not let me in. I had to walk back to the hotel registration desk and wait in a lengthy line just to "re-code" my card (20 minutes). I was irritated at that point. The desk clerk was dry, inhospitable and looked like he hated his job, no dialogue. After WAITING in line, I went back to my room, (which is in the Palace Towers, LONG WALK) I get in and my room had not been touched by anyone. I was really irritated now. I phoned for a supervisor, but got an automated system putting me on hold. Did I say I was irritated; I finally got a supervisor to re-tell my experience. They did listen, apologized and gave me a $50 food and beverage comp. Did I mention that you’re in Vegas and everything is priced like you were shopping at a luxury retailer. I used the comp and got early breakfast as I was flying out before the sun came up in the am. The food was horrible. My daughter who is a juvenile makes better food, really. The pancakes were dry, overcooked. It had a decent size for the price ($12). The milk ($4) temperature felt like room temperature. My omelet ($15) was pretty normal. It took about 45 minutes to get it.
Make sure you get ALL of the finer detail when you check-out. Because I did not use my "Players" card, my room was not comp'ed. I was suppose to spend a minimum of $100 for this, THEY DID NOT TELL ME and would not credit my bill. Oh, .and the Poker room does not count. I went and used my player’s card and met the minimum requirement, but still no satisfaction. I would suggest anyone staying anywhere else than Ceaser's Palace. Please do not go through this experience that I went through. We work hard for our money and they should too. Vegas is hurting for consumers like us to spend. I don't mind spending, but treat me like you would expect to be treated at the Mecca of gambling. I plan on writing them a letter and telling all what happened to me.
