they treat their 'VIP players' lousy too!
I am a fairly big slot player, I am 'comped' my rooms, limos and etc. So tho I don't physically 'pay' for the stay, I certainly earn it in my gaming expenses (approx 15 grand a trip, 4 trips per yr) This hotel has the worst registration area I have ever used, the staff is rude and cold. No coffee pots or fridges in rooms and beware of the 'stocked fridge', it is monitored and if you even open the door a charge will show up on your bill at checkout. A person in my party was unaware and just kept popping it open a half inch, then shutting immediately (she's a fidgety type of person), none of us thought anything about it until I checked out 8 days later and there was $148.00 charge for minibar. All chgs were .50 and .75, I explained nothing was ever removed from the minibar and that certainly no product in there was selling for 50 cents! Staff shrugged and stated it was a valid charge and that there was no way to disprove the use of the minibar. It was absurd! If this is how they treat a 60k year slot gambler, I can only imagine how piss poor they treat an average tourist who spends alot less. I told them to take it up with my host and get it from him, I certainly wasn't paying for it. My host of 10 years did remove/cover the expense, but it was under an ultimatum. We love the Harrahs Properties, on the average we visit 35 days per year. After our 5th visit to Caesars, we realized..... it will never get friendlier, the service will not improve and we will not be happy. Now, we only stay at the other 5 properties and enjoy our trips immensly. Caesars has way to much competition to carry themselves the way they do. I think management needs to 'clean house' and hire people who are customer friendly and helpful. I do not go on vacation to spend 15 grand and be treated like crap. I'm not demanding in the least, however I expect courtious counter staff and a few smiling faces.
