A great value
We stayed in a north tower deluxe room. The checkin was long, 40 minutes or so because they only had 3 clerks working, one with a supervisor or trainer over the shoulder. By my watch it took in excess of 5 minutes per checkin. As in take credit card, give key. 5 mins or more.
Rooms were great, clean, roomy and cleaned appropriately each day. We paid less than $50 per night for our stay, we'd pay double that for our local marriot on a promotion rate.
The casino smells strongly of flowery cigarette smoke, much more than any casino on the strip. (we collected $1 chips from each we visited, we had 18 chips.) Also, if gambling is your thing, they have about the smallest casino floor on the strip.
The drink service at the table games sucked.
The dining options are not strong. We waited over an hour in the table service "quick service" tequilla bar, and had two bus-staff say "you should complain to a manager."
The reason I give Ballys a high review and would stay there again is that the hotel location, mid strip and on the monorail, plus attached to Paris, can't be beat. No resort fees, what you see is what you pay. Please don't take my comments above as overly critical. 5 nights at less than $52 per night is a steal for this property.
What it came down to was a clean, spacious room that didn't gross us out, and after the first night we realized that we could easily walk, in 5 minutes, to Paris, the Bellagio, or get on the monorail and go up or down strip.
So I hope it isn't a backward complement, but Ballys is a great place to sleep, but plan on going pretty much anywhere else to do your vacationing. The Ballys pools, however, were uncrowded and nice, so I would also say the pools on property were top notch.
Again, sorry if this sounds like a negative review that cannot decided what to do, but it is a great place to sleep, and go to the pool, but plan on going off property if you stay there.
