Horribe wedding reception!
I'll start with what sucked me in to this place. I was told that for $850 + tax (which ended up being about $124), I could rent the room which included set up and breakdown, tables and chairs, tableclothes, and creative centerpieces that consisted of fish in bowls of colored water w/ mirrors under them and nice fall flowers surrounding the bowl; there was also to be floating votive candles in the bowl. When I paid for the room, I discussed with the Sales Mgr. that since our wedding colors were red and white, I wanted red on top of white tableclothes, and red colored water in the fish bowl centerpieces. We also spoke on where each table was to be set up and the number of table needed. After speaking with her, I was content; however, that feeling did not last long. When I called a few days previous to inquire when my family could get in to decorate, the Sales Mgr. asked my name and when I gave it to her, she asked if I was with a different group and if I had even put a payment down!! I had payed the cost months before!!! She finally found my name, but had someone call me later with a day and time which was only minimally reassuring. The day of the reception...I was soooo disappointed. On the guest tables were white tableclothes only--not red on white like planned. The centerpiece bowls had to be cleaned by my guest and they had to fill the glass with water themselves--they later told me that when they went in the kitchen to fill the bowls with water, there were fleas everywhere!!!! How embarassing!!!! When asked about the coloring, the front desk told them they didn't have red, but pink and purple. They were told pink since it's closest to red, but when I showed up the water was purple!!! How off is that!!! They were so unprepared. Moreover, the bowls didn't have fish in them and flowers were non-existent. To make matters worse, the candles were floating in the water...unlit. Toward the end of the the party, some friends decided to help clean up. The trash can filled pretty quickly, so they went to the front desk. When they came back the had what looked like sandwich bag because the hotel was out of garbage bags!!! After that, I had enough. I left through the front door before I became a bridezillaand and on my way out, I didn't even receive a good-bye to a staring front desk agent. People....DO NOT HAVE A RECEPTION HERE!!! My wedding day was darn near ruined. I'm just glad I'm married and it's over.

Slow week?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/21/05
Lounge was not open, and the morning breakfast was suppose to open at 6:30 but wasn't started to get set up until after 7:00.
