DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis - Westport, St Louis

Checked in for business. Two weeks earlier, got complimentary Breakfast and had high speed wireless internet. Stayed again and was told breakfast wasn't part of my plan, even though I paid full price!! And internet was now going to cost 9.95 per day!! Clocks were wrong in rooms and Elevators almost injured me bad. Good luck if you stay!

lets see where to start. I went there on business and when I checked in I had to use the freight elevator because the others wernt working. First couple mornings consisted of a cold shower. NO hot water at all, why, according to the hotel, they were at maximum capacity. One would think that if you have room for 200 guests you would have enough of a hot water supply to accomodate them all. One would also expect clean towels without having to call and ask for them. House keeping was horrible at best. I wouldnt let my dog stay there.

The customer service was great!! The rooms were clean and spacious.

Beware! When I made our reservation I specified a quiet room, away from elevators. The clerk noted this upon check-in and placed us directly under an team of high school Lacrosse players. And while they weren't roaming drunkenly through the halls, hours were spent with teenagers slamming various hotel doors, which in turn sounded like bombs going off in our room below. I finally called to complain after midnight and I wasn't the only one. Please, front desk clerks, use some common sense. Beyond that, I agree with most of the other reviews. Our room was cleaner than average and the beds weren't bad. Location seemed a bit far off the interstate, but it's also easy to get to other parts of St. Louis and St. Charles.

Our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) stayed 5 nights here in June of 2007. The front desk service was excellent, friendly and all smiles for our entire stay. We booked the dream deal package which included a full breakfast buffet every morning which only cost us $10.00 per night more. We could not have gotten breakfast for the 4 of us for $10.00 a day, so this was great. The staff at the restaurant were great. Everyday they remembered our plans from the day before and asked if we had fun. Even the housekeeping staff were helpful, friendly and full of smiles. The hotel had recently been through a renovation, and it showed. The room was very nice with comfortable beds and pillows, a mini fridge, a hair dryer and an iron. The pool & hot tub were clean and there were always clean towels. The hotel had a bar in the lobby that also offered food. The staff here was also great. The location was good. We attended a cardinals game, six flags, st. louis mills mall/nascar speed park, the arch, city museum, downtown, westport and more. We were never more than 15 minutes from any destination. We all 4 got warm cookies at check-in. We were very pleased with our stay here!! We got excellent service, accomodations and amenities for a great price. Should we return to St. Louis in the future, the doubletree at westport would be our first choice.

We stayed one night with our 2 young children and loved it. Rooms very clean and modern, beds VERY comfortable! Wondered if we could sneak a mattress out the back door..... Greeted upon check in with fresh baked, still warm, chocolate chip cookies. Great place for the price, only thing I would have changed was the location.

We stayed at The Doubletree Westport for one night before leaving to Miami to get on a cruise. The public areas were very nicely decorated in a contemporary theme, and our guest room was equally nice. We booked our stay on a discounter site, and I cant remember exactly what we payed, but I think it was only 70 some dollars. I would stay here again anytime. Also, there is a free shuttle to and from the airport.

My family and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The staff at the front desk was very nice and we were able to get checked in pretty quickly. The hotel looked nice and clean. BUT watch out for what you cannot see!! The biggest problem my family had was the cleanliness of the beds. My husband and I were complaining to each other about itching and little bumps we developed on our skin. Once our children also complained about itching we have realized there had to have been some type of bed bugs in the beds. We are all going to get checked out by the doctors this week and get some type of ointment for the itching :/

Nice LOBBY-HORRIBLE ROOMS. VERY OUTDATED! YOU CAN FIND MUCH BETTER VALUES IN THE STLOUIS/WESTPORT AREA THAN THIS HOTEL! NO HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS IN ROOMS! HOTEL NEEDS TO BE UPDATED VERY BADLY! HOTEL IS TRAPPED IN THE 1970S-AGAIN, NEEDS UPDATES!

I really enjoyed westport the hotel was not a bad cab ride to Westport plaza I say about half mile. The hotel on the other hand was not good. The elavator was broken most of the time, and it took them a while to fix it. the meals they served were cold and the wait staff was not that friendly. Next time I go I will pay the extra money and stay right on the plaza. and It will save me the $5 a cab ride
