Very impressed for the money!
By BlessedMommy, 4/21/11
We booked with Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven at the last minute because- I was concerned because of the price and we don't normally stay in motels. Upon arriving I was worried because we had never been to Springfield- but as soon as we pulled into the parking lot I felt a great bit better about this motel than the other ones that I had considered. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was helpful and quick to get us what we needed. The only complaint is that it was February and they had left the heat off, so upon arrival after 17 hours in a car, we came into sleep first in a 50 degree room, it took about 5 or 6 hours to get to a point that it was warm enough to shower in the room and the bathtub also drained very slow so you stand in your dirty shower water ankle deep. Other than those two things it was better than I could have imagined for the money we spent on it. I felt safe there, and that makes up for a lot of other things. If I am ever in the area again, I would stay there again.

Avoid. Better hotels/motels in Springfield.
By Brian, 10/18/08
Door locks and door falling apart. Old beds with bug biting. Loud parties in rooms. Chairs falling apart. After misplacing my wallet (fell under bed), receptionist laughed when I called and asked if I left it on the counter. I didn't find a lost wallet funny.

A step back in time!
By E McG, 7/31/08
This place is truly a landmark, it's a must if you want a little historical perspective of how folks stayed on route 66. It's a 1930's motor inn with all the modern amenities!

Will stay here again.
By one, 7/7/08
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are not the biggest, but are very adequate and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. Enjoyed the pictures from the past. Listed in "Route 66" motel and restaurant guide.

It was okay
By boohoo, 11/14/07
My reservation was messed up. I booked it for Nov 9th to the 11th. I wasn't due to arrive until 2 am or so on the 10th. The reservation was made for the 10th thru the 12th. Thank GOD my mom called to confirm, as it was a very busy weekend and they were completely booked. We might have been really out of luck for a room when we showed up that first night. The room was kind of cramped. couldn't regulate the heat, so it was either really hot or really cold. The toilet never flushed properly. But if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room, it's an okay place to stay.

AVOID THIS PLACE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
October 17, 2007 I booked three rooms for our family to attend a special event in Springfield, Missouri October 10-15, 2007. I have stayed a Best Westerns World Wide and have been a member of the Gold Crown Club. The Rail Haven motel in Springfield, Missouri was to say the least a very unpleasant stay. Not only did they fail to follow reservation instructions booked well in advance by charging me for one room by cancellation fee when the change had been made several days prior to our arrival. I had sent two faxes to this location and never received a response however when I arrived they had a copy of the fax stapled to my reservation request. The last night of our UNPLEASANT STAY, which will be posted in a review of this location, a truck with an alarm parked out side of our room went off every 20 minutes from 1:30 A.M. until 8:20 A.M. Despite repeated calls to the front desk this matter was not taken care of. The only thing I was told was the owner had a sensor problem with the alarm and was not told to disconnect the battery or whatever. It just continued to go off. NO ONE GOT ANY SLEEP THAT NIGHT. The desk or office personnel did NOTHING to correct this problem. WE WILL NEVER…..REPEAT NEVER……stay at this location again and will advise our contacts to avoid this Best Western Location. Sincerely, Paul R. Wood
