everything about this hotel was first class the staff did not know what to do for you everyone was very helpfull my room was very clean and the balcony with table and chairs were wonderful to have coffee on in the morning i would recommend this hotel to anyone next time i am in kansas city i will stay here

$300 for a King bed and nothing memorable. My fiancee booked this hotel because he thought it would be romantic and amazing for our anniversary. The lounge area and check in are beautiful...the rest of the hotel is blah and old. And not old in a whimsical wow look at this architecture way. Old as in smelly, falling apart, and in need of a paint job and window washing. My fiancee called the day before and asked if we could get a room on a higher floor so we could have a view, they promptly added him to some rewards program and said they took care of it. We were on the 2nd floor. We got to the room around 330pm and it was warm, turned the ac all the way to 62. Watched the ridiculously small tv. Checked the mini bar which was empty. Got ready in the hot room and went to dinner around 645pm thinking it would be cool when we returned. It was 75 when we returned at 10pm. The phones didn't work so my fiancee went down to the front desk to let them know. Sent a man into our room at 1005pm who clunked around w the ac and said it was fixed. At 1045pm my fiancee used his cell to call the main office because it was the only phone number he could find. Finally at a 11pm the maintenance guy came back to our room and gave us new keys for a room on the 3rd floor and 2 breakfast vouchers. We waited for almost 10 minutes for an elevator, they were all full of people and we couldn't fit. We finally gave up and took the stairs. Went to our new room where kids were running and screaming down the halls. Had a good nights sleep, woke up to our complimentary breakfast which we had to pay a $3 fee and tip. Check out was at noon, but at 1045am we had a maid walk into our room. And again at 1115am a maid just walked right into our room. One of them probably saw my fiancees manhood. We couldn't get out of their fast enough! Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever. The Holiday Inn or Comfort Suites would have been alot better for half the price and none of the hassle.

Can't think of much we liked........ Rude Service from the start, Dirty, Cold Room, Cold Water Extremely Small Television for this type of place Newspapapers upon request only-had to request every day. Phone did not work. Exposed water damage on wall in room. Elevator did not work right. etc. etc. etc. Stay at your own risk!

Hotel and its staff was very nice. Loved the beds along with the size of the room. Bathroom was OK but the grout was very dirty for a hotel of this price I would have expected better. TV wasn't clear but that didn't bother me since I wasn't in the room much. Location was perfect for me. Will stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in Kansas City

My colleagues and I stayed here for a business trip in July. It was about a 45 min drive from the airport. That was the only down side about the location. It was less than a five minute walk to all the shopping and restaurants. The hotel décor was highly unattractive. There was modern art mixed with traditional art. I was under the impression they were redecorating but that was not case. The elevators need to be replaced. It seems like they want to keep the traditions of the older hotel and mix it with a modern up to date style. It’s not hard to accomplish but this hotel made it look very tacky. The lighting was off and it just made the lobby look very drab. The hotel staff was very nice and prompt. They handled each and every one of our changes. I did have a rude encounter with a bellman but it was handled appropriately by the manager. Outside of him everyone else was excellent. In my opinion the area of the hotel where business meetings are meant to be held was not appropriate. They aren’t meant to hold large meetings. They have these obnoxious pillars in the middle of the room that obstructed peoples view. Also it smelled very old down there. The food for lunch that they brought us was decent at best. But anything we needed they did their best. Breakfast however was excellent. The short glimpse of the ballroom was very nice. The carpets just needed to be cleaned. I did not get to experience the pool or the hotel restaurant but there were always people down there in the pool. The gym was very up to date. The hotel restaurant also had lounge and outside area to eat. The rooms were ok. Whoever did their decorating should be fired. The carpet didn’t match anything it all goes back to modern vs. traditional. The wall paint was pretty modern but the carpet was traditional. I had an excellent view of the shopping mall and Brush Creek. Each room has a balcony and you can stand out there and enjoy your evenings. The bed was very comfortable. When I was checking out there was a $17 dollar charge for parking and I didn’t drive. The concierge took care of it and everything was fine. This hotel should be used for family events and TINY conferences.

I had an issue with my account. 4 weeks later and the problom hasnt been solved. All of this for an average room. I will NEVER stay there again!

The proximity to the plaza is hard to beat. Our room had been recently renovated, but average (at best) lighting in the bathroom. The rooms are well decorated as you would expect at an upscale property. Unique parking situation for hotel of this size...the garage opens up to the hallway on each floor and we parked very close to the room.

My husband won a night here from a silent auction. We were really looking forward to it and thought it should be good. But, it really needed to be fixed up a bit. Carpet really needed scrubbed. Calking bad all over, paint splatter all over the bathroom floor and finger and forehead prints on the sliding door. But that's nothing compared to the paper think walls and doors. We were rudely awaken at 2 am by drunk people next door and could hear their entire conversation. After calling the front desk to complain and having nothing done, we decided to move rooms. The bellman met us at our door to move us to room 409. When getting there and his key refusing entry he loudly called on his radio for security. Security opened the door just to find the room was already occupied (this was clearly the front desk's fault)! We had to go all the way to the lobby hauling our belongings to be taken to another room. Our night was then peaceful and we had a complimentary breakfast the next morning for our troubles, but that didn't really cover all the grief we went through, not to mention the people getting disturbed in room 409. The hotel staff is just lazy and inexperienced (the bellman and security person looked 12)! We won't recommend or ever stay here again.

I stayed for 3 nights to attend a family wedding. The staff involved with the wedding were super and the wedding activities went well. However, being placed for 3 nights by the noisy elevators, hearing them go up/down all night was not enjoyable. Not having hand towels and washcloths for 2 of the 3 days because they were "in the laundry" was inexcusable. A block of rooms was to be reserved, but we were scattered on 5 different floors. The rooms were small and need remodeling (that is currently being conducted). There is definite need for improvement for the price!
