Dreamy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/09
The Sea Villa we stayed in was phenomenal. (Every Sea Villa has a lake view - and the lake is literally just a stone's throw off the back patio/deck.) Firewood restocked daily - as well as fire pits on the shoreline. Pool/Hot Tub/Sauna at Guest Center was great fun, too! Our unit was clean and cozy. Will definitely come back and stay longer!

Historic and beautiful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/09
I have stayed at Lutsen several times. I don't recommend the lodge rooms if you want to relax and see the view. The windows are small. Nonetheless, the lodge is beautiful and historic. My favorite place to stay at the resort is the Poplar River Condominiums. They are pricey, but they are beautiful condos with spectacular views. The log homes are nice -- but they are up on a ridge and not close to the lake. Great views, though. The restaurant is well-known for its excellent food.

I'd live there if I could
By Ben, 08/20/08
My wife and I loved the lodge- the breathtaking views of Lake Superior, the old wood interior, the stone fireplace and the people were all great. I signed up for a guided hike and, though I was the only person signed up, was taken on a great hike around the Temperence River. The two restaurants in the lodge were also great. The prices, especially for the off season were very reasonable and I can't wait to get back as soon as possible.

We go back every year!
By Chelsea, 07/20/08
We love staying in the condos. Comfortable beds, cozy fireplace, and nice deck are great. Very helpful staff and a great restaurant menu also. We have gone 4 years in a row now. We love it!

extremely disappointed!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
this was our first get away in about three years and we were hoping for a place that did not smell musty like a basement or a dark little cave. they told us we had a fully stocked kitchen however to our horror we found a few dirty kettles and pans with the broom and vacuum cleaner sitting on them in a closet!!!! we had exactly and i kid you not, a square foot of counter space to prepare our meals. we were also surprised the resort stated our "sea villa" would sleep six adults when my partner and i were practically on top of and bumping into each other the entire time. the seating offered was horrible---my back still hurts!!! our deck barely had room for our cooler that we had to keep using as the refrigerator was too small to fit hardly any of our food or beverages. we booked two nights for $540.00--what a waste as we left the next morning after we checked in--the man at the counter did not ask why we were leaving early or if we were happy with our accommodations he only stated we would not get a refund! do yourself a favor save your money!!!!! and stay some where else!!!!!

Beautiful location, but customer service did not match
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/06
The resort itself is beautifully spread along the shores of Lake Superior. The customer service, espeically at the main lodge front desk was very poor. The prices are high, and the rooms, quite frankly, are not worth it. We brought in a lot of guest and money, yet were treated as if they were doing us a favor for letting us stay there, when it should have been the other way around. I've stayed at many resorts and hotels, and this was one of the least enjoyable experiences I've ever had with staff. They seem so consumed with money, it makes the customers feel second class. I would not recommend this hotel, even though the area is beautiful. Luckily, there are several other resorts and hotels nearby. In fact, some of my family stayed at the Best Western right down the road from the resort, and were treated much better, and payed a heck of a lot less. It's a shame because the resort is such a nice place. Maybe they'll get new management or something, or at least make some replacements at the desk and reservation area.

Excellent
By adam, 02/23/06
Time of my life. The resort is very historic, the views are great, the weather was a little cold, but other than that it was an excellent place. I plan on going back many times.

Love it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/05
This is a beautiful lodge. Perfect for a romantic weekend away or for a trip with the family. There are many things to do. Whether you partake in lodge sponsored activities (candle-making, night hikes, etc...) or do nothing at all, this resort has a way of making you feel great. I would recommend staying in one of their beautiful log homes, supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
