Flies, Spiders, Smoke, Crabby Arrogant Service, and Lousy Food... Pretty much sums it up. We got checked in then went to eat at the resturant. It closes at 9 PM (sharp apparently) because when we got there the hostess (and I use that term only because that is what she technically was) expressed disgust that we were there just prior to 9 PM. I ordered a french dip sandwich thinking it would be safe, it wasn't. The pool windows had at least a dozen BIG barn spiders hanging outside the window, and fly strips hanging from the rafters. Niether vending machine worked in the pool area. We did "dinner" the next night only because it was the only place available. The waitress sat us next to the smokers, and when we relocated ourselves, she got annoyed, then got our order wrong, suggested we take it to go since they were closed, then started to argue with me when I pointed out her error. Hopefully this place closes down so that someone else can take it over, clean it up, and take advantage of this awesome location. For now however find somewhere else to stay, and especially to eat.

The restaurant is infested with swarms of flies, I ordered Steak (medium) and lobster which includes Soup and Salad Bar. I walked over to the salad bar and was swarmed by about 50 flies, other customers were complaining, and the Manager's solution was to shutdown the Soup and Salad bar while stating that there's nothing they can do about the flies. The food was terrible, the steak was about a quarter inch thick and burnt black, the lobster was small, shrivled-up, and dry. I complained to the Waitress and she said she was sorry, I then complained to the Manager and his response was that he could see a little pink in the steak, he did nothing to improve the situation. I can imagine the fly infestation is in the kitchen as well. We were going to patronize the casino but we were so disgusted we just left.

Have had a lovely evening - great, hi-speed wireless internet. Friendly guest service personnel plus free slot play and another discount on the beautiful room that we were thrilled with at FULL price. Clean room, large indoor pool, and a view to die for of Lake Superior out our window. What a deal!

This is the epitomy of tranquility. Lovely people, beautiful surroundings, and the lodge is superb. No modern day, materialistic distractions. Only peaceful surroundings where one can enjoy the lake and become one with nature. If you're geared for more action, the casino provides all the noise and entertainment you could ask for.

Felt like I was at the end of the planet, no internet connectivity, nor any cell phone service and no long distance phone calls without a calling card. Also no Wireless or wired internet.
