Think otherwise....
By ,
We stayed at the Ramada last weekend as we were told of their nice pool area. We were extremely disappointed in our stay however. The door keys would not work each time we needed to get into the room and we had to walk to the front desk at least five times during our stay to have the keys reset. Not convenient, especially considering we had an infant with us. The exhaust fan above our room was extremely loud and prevented us from getting any sleep until I had complained around midnight. The front desk staff were nice enough, however when we complained to the general manager, he totally blew us off. Very disappointing. We paid money for access to a quiet room. Didn't have convenient access without having to traipse down to the lobby frequently for new keys, and certainly didn't get a good night's sleep listening to the exhaust fans. We'll never patronize this place again!

A Hotel too Far
By ,
It was not close to Mayos. It is not on the Skywalk. The choices to at nearby ar an Old Country Buffet and a singularly bad restaurant Teresa's which is adjacent to the hotel. The hotel does not provide shuttle service to Mayos. It relies on an hourly City Transit Bus. Tip: Teresa's is awful and overpriced. We went on a Sunday and the "Signature" Dish was Parmesan French Soup which, in the the hands of a very dubious looking cook, turned out to be microwaved Campbells French Onion Soup with piece of bread and overmicro'd cheese on top. Off course, we disturbed to cook's chat with the drunk chick at the bar so in addition to rotten, overpriced fare, we had to wait

Good Location
By ,
My 9month pregnant wife and I stayed for a week, over the July 4th weekend. We had reservations. It was 100+F for the first 2 days and could not get our AC to work properly. There was a 4 foot hole outside our window where workers spent two days with hammer drills updating the gas lines. On the 3rd night a storm killed all the power for half the night. No generator or AC. Finally at 2am in the dark hallway I ran into a WONDERFUL night clerk. While visiting, the city power was restored. We visited about our situation we delt with the prior 3 days, He felt awful and informed me to get our things together, he would move us into a better room. Helped us move further away from the pool to a much nicer room-all at 2:30 am! The AC was still not as reliable and the bed needed updating. We have stayed here in the past and can tell the Hotel is always being updated, which is a good thing. The pool and exercise area are very nice and clean, but a later adult swimming time would have been nice. The dining room and ballrooms were modern and food was excellent. Breakfast was also great with a large selection of food. Will stay again, but hopefully not in the dead heat of summer.

This Hotel Was Perfect
By ,
This hotel was perfect for my needs. The staff was very friendly. I didn't see any of the things the bad reviews said. Next week will be my 3rd stay, and I'll come back here again. It was clean, comfortable and friendly. They let me check out later in the day because of my last appt. at Mayo and even let me take the shuttle after check-out. I feel they accommodated my needs very nicely.

Like no other!
By ,
I LOVE this hotel! It is such a wonderful place to stay, whether you are going to the Mayo clinic or just to vacation! The price is EXTREMELY reasonable and includes breakfast!! The shuttle service is free and the pools are so much fun! There is a huge water slide and small children's pool with a small slide. Also a hottub. Everyone there is so friendly! I have never stayed anywhere else in Rochester, everytime we have gone, which is often because my son is a Mayo clinic patient. This Hotel offers the absolute best services and ammenities for the best price! And I will have to say that the Manager has been so friendly and accomodating to my sons needs. Do not look any further for a hotel to stay at!:)

We warn people not to go
By ,
The front desk service was deplorable. They were rude and couldn't care less about any of our complaints. Out of 3 rooms, 1 had a broken bed and the other 2 has windows that would not close all the way - which would have been ok if it had been nice weather. Check-in was a complete disaster. This hotel should be used as an example for other hotel staff trainees for what NOT to do in the lodging business.

Pool Room NOT for Relaxing Family Get Away
By ,
I picked this hotel for a nice family break. To my disappointment the pool room was not great for families. 2 attendants gaurded the room to make sure no families could drink or have anything to eat. The pool room was surrounded by wonderful tables, but hotel did not provide any spot for a nice break for something to drink or snack on. Our family was approached by these attendants 3 times as they scoured the pool room looking for offenders. However, later on in the evening a huge group of adults enjoyed pizza and beer, but no one ever told them they could not. I felt singled out and very disappointed in the hotel. The pool was also supposed to stay open till 11:00 pm, but they closed the slide down at 8:00 sharp. The attendants also harrassed my childen often about having wrist bands on there wrists. The manager checked us in, but never gave us anything for the pool room. I had to go back to the front desk and get wrist bands so that my kids could go down the slide. The front desk attendants stared everyone down while entering the hotel. I would not recommend any family who is wanting a nice weekend family getaway! To many strict rules with the hotel made it feel very uncomfortable. I don't think I will ever go back!

Check in is Awful!
By ,
The hotel is a nice facility. I have no complaints about that. The problem is with the check-in requirements. The staff requested a driver's license, which I have no problem with. But before I could object, the girl took my id and made a copy of it. This was a surprise, and totally uncalled for. Then, I had to sign a "code of conduct" form. This is not a very good way to welcome travelers to your business. I will never stay at this Ramada again, and I will ask about check-in requirements before staying at any other Ramada Inn.

Apathetic Service
By ,
We choose this hotel specifically because it had a Business Center. However, despite the fact that signs explictly forbid its use by anyone under 18, ALL of the machines were taken by children. A complaint to the front desk met with apathy and a refusal to remove them (because the children were with their father). Although we requested a non-smoking room, the elevator and corridor leading to our room STANK of cigarette smoke. Despite having 'Do Not Disturb' on our door, we were woken by housekeeping the next morning - a mere THREE HOURS before checkout time. The front desk asked me if we enjoyed our stay to which I replied "No". They then just scurried away and never bothered to ask a follow-up question or to try to rectify the problem. They clearly couldn't have cared less. DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL IF YOU NEED TO WORK, RELAX OR SLEEP!!!
