DON'T EVER STAY THERE!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/2/11
My son was in a bowling State Tournament in Jackson the April 30th and 31st..and our bowling alley coach had picked this place for us to stay for the night. So me and my son check in and as we are wating, a lady who was there prior came back saying that the room she gave her had not been cleaned. I thought ok mistakes happen. So we get our room number and pull around back to the door to get to our door and there are shady people hanging outside the doorway. Needless to say I was leary of parking my car there. So we go in our room and it didn't smell to fresh noticed that the sheet on the bed was on inside out, went into the bathroom and there was a puddle next to the toliet and it smelt like urine. The shower was all cracked and nasty. I go to get the ice bucket and low and behold there isn't one! So I go to the front desk to tell them and as I get there another parent from our group was there complaining of dead bugs and cobwebs in the room...and he said the lady looked at him and said is that a problem!! HELL YEAH its a problem!!! They had no pool towels at the pool so my son came to the room to get a towel from there and of course the room had no towels or washcloths! Another parents room wasn't clean and had mold all in the bathroom!! I could go on and on but the more I am typing I am getting angry about it again!! How they are able to be open I am not sure..they need to condemn the place!!! Its to me was worse then a motel in a local city that you can pay hourly to use it!! Oh yeah they also offered a continental breakfast...not much to choose from and was not touching any of it...not by how the placed looked! NOt sure where the pictures came from that they have on there site but it sure isn't anything I seen in the Avalon hotel in Jackson that I stayed in!! TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

This place needs to be CLOSED down!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/4/11
Sorry, you will not read any "LIKES" in this review. We are a family of 5 and asked for a roll away bed and only received 4 pillows. My husband asked for another and the hotel clerk said they were all out. The pillows that we did have were so thin that my husband went out to Meijer that night to buy new ones. The bath tub had plaster that had fallen from the ceiling and I saw some ants on the floor. The electrical socket did not work at all. Along with the blow dryer. The lights kept flickering on and off in the bathroom. The rooms looked awful! We had clothing left from someone who stayed before us. I told the housekeeper and all she did was asked us, if we wanted it. Comforter had tears in it and stains. The room was cold and had to turn the heat up on high. I'm not even sure where they got the pictures they are using on this website. THIS hotel does not look like that at all. Everything looked run down. The putt putt golf and pool area looked awful. The pool was always cold. If you decide to stay in this hotel, please take the time to see it ahead of time. You'll be surprised of what you REALLY SEE!

We Love This Place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/09
Out of ALL the Hotel's in Jackson-This is the "ONLY" Hotel that allows you to have "B-Day Parties" for your kids or just for yourself!! Even though your only allowed 5 people to come, that worked out fine for us!! The place is really improving from 2 years ago (when we first came). They have new tile & have painted, and we seen roofers working (which was an issue in the past) But it never persuaded us to stop going. because we always enjoy our stay!! The price is right The staff is always pleasant, rms always clean, & kids always have a great time!!

2009 and no better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/8/09
they have been in remoduling for two years plus and no better now then it was infact it is much worse. the housekeeping staff is a joke they don't know what they are doing and if it wasn't for gothum the manager paying off people to keep the building open it would have been closed down before it was sold from the original owners,,,, don't stay there it's not worth it

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
By Charlie, 8/1/08
We stayed at this dump while vivsiting family in Jackson. We only stayed here because they had a pool, and a bar. We wanted to have a few drinks without driving anywhere. Well, the bar closes at 10:00, and we didn;t get to the room until 9:30, A couple of the kids cut their feet on the bottom of the poole due to who knows what. The rooms stink, and had mold in the bathrooms. Carpet was nappy, and we never went barefoot..just gross. And this room was $140.00 a night! Construction all over, restaraunt closed, not a good experience. I talked to the manager named Gotha about a refund or even a discount to no avail. He was a first class jerk, and even his employees thought so too. Hopefully the better business beaureau or health department will get this place closed down.

Worst hotel stay ever
By Ryan, 10/22/07
This hotel was horrendous. While driving down the ramp from I-94, we saw blue tarps covering parts of the hotel and thought it was possibly damage from storms that came through two days prior but no that was not the case. Parts of the hotel were torn up however I don't think they were in to much of a hurry to remodel this place. Remodeling this place is pointless anyways. The place is beyond dirty and musty. I don't think maintenance has been done on the interior of the hotel since the 1970s!!! The bed sheets were wet. The pool was absolutely disgusting looking ( I don't think it had been treated). The door to the room did not shut properly and found it had opened upon our return twice. A party was going in the bar on the other side of the hotel and you could clearly hear the party from our hotel room while trying to sleep at midnight. Calling the hotel staff in regards to this matter was useless as they refused to shut the doors to the room the party was in to keep the noise down through the rest of the hotel. They told us it would be done soon. Yeah........ There was an old ambulance in the back lot that said student driver on it that I think someone was living in. However, due to our dissatisfaction, the corporate offices of Holiday Inn is refunding our money. This hotel is not worth what they charge whatsoever. It would not surprise me if the the Motel 6, a third of the price across the highway, was in better condition. We were in town for a wedding and they had blocked rooms here otherwise I would have done further research and stayed elsewhere.

The worst hotel ever
By Connie, 8/22/07
We stayed at this place during the recent race weekend for MIS. Absolutely do not stay here. All of the rooms that our gang rented were moldy smelly and dirty. The roof leaked in 11 of the 12 rooms that our group had. Our last stay was the same and we were assured when we made reservations that the rooms would be remodeled and no leaks by the time of our race. Some rooms had no ac and others had no cable. Lots of employees running around like the didnt have a clue what to do. The restaurant service was slow, the waitresses not very friendly and the food was cold most of the time. The pool had an odd smell unlike no pool Ive ever been in. Our bag of returnable empty cans was removed from our rooms by housekeeping and we did not ask them to or leave it where it would be thought to be trash. One of the rooms asked two times for dry sheets from the leak and never got and so stripped the bed themself and found the mattress was ripped and moldy. We have reported all of this to local building inspectors. Also got a laugh out of the so called security guard who was more interested in the young ladies than his job. Do not waste your money at this place
