Great Location - Poor Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/05
I am easily pleased, but this hotel was second rate at best. The room had a dirty carpet, stained furniture that I did not even want to sit on, & a broken light fixture (that was never repaired after being reported). There is no front desk, but two small writing desks with chairs in front. I guess the idea is to cultivate a feeling of intimacy & special customer care. Nothing could be further from my experience. There was always a wait of at least 5 minutes to talk to the front desk (since I never saw more than one employee there) & then the entire lobby (if you can call it that) is privy to your conversation. And do not even think about checking in before 3:00 p.m. One night, housekeeping actually folded one of my used towels & replaced it on the linen bar. I had room service one night, which was served by a rather surly staff member, & was disappointed in the food. This hotel should be ashamed. The only thing that saved it from total disaster for me was the location..right across the street from Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market
