Friendly staff, decor tired, parking charge absurd
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/5/10
I stayed there for three nights in Feb 2010. The bed was comfortable. The people at the front desk were very helpful and provided maps, suggested local restaurants and printed my boarding pass. They even loaned me an umbrella on a rainy day. My room was clean and a decent size, though the bathroom was small. The pool is nice though it closes too early (10 pm). The hotel's decor is very dated and needs to be brought into the 21st century. The food in the restaurant was okay but a little pricey, though the waitstaff was nice. You'll get better value if you visit the restaurants in the nearby neighborhood. I paid $99 a night, which is a good rate for a Sheraton. However, it's absurd that they charge $9 daily to park out in the 'burbs. I'll be back in late spring, by which time I hope to see the dated decor freshened up and the stupid parking charge eliminated. Overall, a fairly good experience and good value, except for the parking charge.
