Ants Are An Amenity Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
There weren't any other amenties - no soap (is that an amenity?), no shampoo, no clock, no hair dryer, no paper cups, no coffee, you name it, it wasn't there. A bed, two scratchy towels, and a 1960s TV with no remote is what you get for your $130.
The A/C was noisy, the beds were bouncy - and they're not full-size doubles, either - my feet hung 4" over the end of the bed and I'm 5'8". We also had the peeling wallpaper, etc. Pool was smelly and dark, didn't want my teenager going in there alone. It's one thing to run a hotel this way - they have every right to run it like they don't care if their customers ever come back. There weren't many cars in their lot, either.
Oh - You can bring your pets - but if you do, and you feed it, expect to get bombarded with ants. They shove pet owners in the back, too, where the rooms are really neglected.
Most of the motels on Cape Ann don't allow pets, we know, we have searched so that we didn't Have to stay here. We couldn't get the one we wanted, because it was full. The motels that do allow pets don't allow you to leave them in your room, so going out to get groceries in the 90 degree heat, let alone food other than take out, is impossible. These folks know they have you by the short hairs.
Motels on Cape Ann need to get with the program - there is a lot of business out there for you. My teeny, clean, quiet, non-shedding dog will leave your rooms a lot cleaner than smokers, and she won't burn (or chew) the furniture, either.
