Don't think we'll be going back soon...
My fiancee and I have been coming here for years...and everytime, it keeps getting worse! (May I recommend the lovely Cape Codder Hotel in Hyannis?) I agree with the other users on here who say the people at the front desk are rude. Not only this, their English was very poor the last two times we were there. I made a reservation over the phone two days before arriving, upon arrival, they DID NOT honor the internet promotion I had mentiond and had to pay extra money! I was furious! The manager didn't seem to keen on customer service either.
The room was horrifying! We came in the dead of winter, so it was frigid outside. The heater felt like it hadn't been used in weeks, and the room was basically like walking into a meat freezer. We stayed in the Plaza Suite, which is one of the most expensive, and was overly not thrilled. I called down to the desk and told them about our "strange" findings; hairs in the hot tub, mold on the walls of the shower, and NO HOT WATER!! THe maintance man came up promptly and tinkered with the faucet until it reached something suitable for a jacuzzi bath.
What I found most appauling, and don't get me wrong; this is a "Couples Friendly" place....In one room next to us were two people "enjoying themselves LOUDLY, while down the hall there were children running around. The walls couldn't have been thinner!
The food was alright. We got a package where dinner was free. (Did I mention they were practically "begging" for a tip?) Were great tippers, but don't expect me to give you 25% for a meal that was free, and service that was rushed mediocre!!) I complained about the loud music that was playing while we were sharing a bottle of wine...most of the waitstaff was young, so there was rap music playing...strange? Yes. They turned it off after a few comments to the waiter.
The bed was just about the only decent thing. Also, the free breakfast the next morning was probably the best thing they have going.
Really...if you want service, clean rooms and a "romantic" getaway....The Cape Codder Hotel is right up the street in Hyannis.
