Tour groups beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/09
Went with a tour group & they lost my luggage. Hotel staff was to remove bags from hallway & deliver to bus - mine got lost. No one will take responsibility. Left msgs - no one returned calls. At bar I ordered same drink 2 days in a row & charged $3 one day & $8 the next. Jacuzzi tub was impossible to get in/out. Breakfast buffet was low quality & frequently trays were empty .

Skip this excrement-hole
By Mark M, 06/24/09
My wife and I were extremely excited about spending two nights of our honeymoon at this supposedly "romantic" establishment. Given the exorbitant rate they charge, we thought it would be an excellent stay. Yet after seeing both the long, cavern-like corridors leading to the rooms, and the dank interior of our room that seemed more at home in a cheap truckers motel, we walked out without spending the night. About the only thing this place does well is their web design, which makes a scuzzy fleabag location seem like the Four Seasons. Skip their bubbles and take your cuddles elsewhere. Skip the International Inn!!!!!!!

happy anniversary to us
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/08
We have been guests at the inn before. we were very pleased a year ago and we were very pleased this time also. We were greeted by friendly staff at check in. We were reminded of all the amenities, hours for dinner etc.. We stayed in a princess suite. It was very clean, well decorated and stocked. We had dinner reservations at 7:30. We were promptly seated by a very friendly hostess, We were then greeted by a wonderful server who helped in our dinner choices. We were very happy with the quality of food, the aroma, the temperature and most importantly, the taste. We are looking forward to returning to this establishment asap.

Great Location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/08
Don't believe all the negative reviews. Cute & cozy. 80s style decorations with a little victorian hugh. Though we luved it; Smelled like a smoke pot upon entering the room. We stayed in the Princess Jr. suite; perfect for a romantic getaway. I would not recommend this place for families with children. Everything worked the way it was supposed to; clean place with friendly staff. Breakfast was the same both days; but, overall the meals were fair. Hey, you can't complain when they're free (we got the package deal.) the Location was right down town; within walking distance to small restaurants, small gifty shops, bars, beach.

We loved it! Don't believe all the negative stuff you read
By DIANNA, 10/11/07
I read the reviews before my husband & I went there for our 20th wedding anniversary so I was very unsure about what to expect. We decided to try the summer special. We stayed 3 nights in the Crown Victorian Suite. Now mind you we went in mid September so the summer rush was over...there were only a few couples stay there the first two nights. Although the place is older, it was very clean!!! the room was much more then we expected. Absolutely GORGEOUS! The buffet breakfast was yummo! And the dinner that was included in our stay was beyond amazing (we both had the lobster pie). The service was great. On the third night 2 bus loads of "older people" came & stayed. After they all got in their rooms we never heard a thing. The only complaint I can think of is that the exterior of the building is dated. Other then that our stay was great. We will definetly go back again.

Hopefully it gets better
By Altia T, 09/02/07
The room smelled as soon as we walked in, the bathroom smelled like urine. There was no ashtrays in the smoking room and we had to wait over an hour for them to come. There's no please wait to be seated sign or host standing at the door of the restaraunt. The food is gross and expensive for no reason. The jacuzzi is the best thing going thats the only reason I would return. It's pretty big with 2 shower heads.

Don't think we'll be going back soon...
By BostonLobster, 03/13/07
My fiancee and I have been coming here for years...and everytime, it keeps getting worse! (May I recommend the lovely Cape Codder Hotel in Hyannis?) I agree with the other users on here who say the people at the front desk are rude. Not only this, their English was very poor the last two times we were there. I made a reservation over the phone two days before arriving, upon arrival, they DID NOT honor the internet promotion I had mentiond and had to pay extra money! I was furious! The manager didn't seem to keen on customer service either. The room was horrifying! We came in the dead of winter, so it was frigid outside. The heater felt like it hadn't been used in weeks, and the room was basically like walking into a meat freezer. We stayed in the Plaza Suite, which is one of the most expensive, and was overly not thrilled. I called down to the desk and told them about our "strange" findings; hairs in the hot tub, mold on the walls of the shower, and NO HOT WATER!! THe maintance man came up promptly and tinkered with the faucet until it reached something suitable for a jacuzzi bath. What I found most appauling, and don't get me wrong; this is a "Couples Friendly" place....In one room next to us were two people "enjoying themselves LOUDLY, while down the hall there were children running around. The walls couldn't have been thinner! The food was alright. We got a package where dinner was free. (Did I mention they were practically "begging" for a tip?) Were great tippers, but don't expect me to give you 25% for a meal that was free, and service that was rushed mediocre!!) I complained about the loud music that was playing while we were sharing a bottle of wine...most of the waitstaff was young, so there was rap music playing...strange? Yes. They turned it off after a few comments to the waiter. The bed was just about the only decent thing. Also, the free breakfast the next morning was probably the best thing they have going. Really...if you want service, clean rooms and a "romantic" getaway....The Cape Codder Hotel is right up the street in Hyannis.

Bad experience with BAD management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/07
I had called the hotel during the week & got a rude woman on the phone who wasn't helpful at all. After talking to a friend who lives on the cape, he told us to go to this place as people really liked it. We checked in in the morning - with a very nice woman at the front desk. She even sold us on a special $20 card to get discounts & a free stay after 4 visits. We put our stuff in the room, went out for the day, came back at night & then went in the jacuzzi. We tried to take a shower - the water was sizzling HOT. Called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man up to check. He told us that they knew there was a problem with the boiler, which ticked me off. Anyways, we had to tidy up the messy room, pack our bags & move rooms. Went to talk to the girl at the front desk (actually the same rude person I had spoken to during the week). I told her that we wouldn't be coming back & I wanted my $20 back for the "extra night" special. She called the manager & in turn told him we wanted to check out. Obviously she didn't understand, but whatever. In talking to the manager I realized that he was as rude as her. I told him that I didn't think he should treat his customers the way he was doing to us & he responded "obviously we do something right because people come back year after year". Funny thing is, there were only about 4-5 cars parked in the parking lot, so they weren't busy. He was busy watching a football game in the lounge area. We checked out at 8pm, got our money back, and will never go back again. I'd NEVER recommend this place to anyone. It IS just like the other reviews say - small, dingy, damp feeling rooms. DON'T GO THERE! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

worst experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/06
Air conditioner was noisy, making it difficult to sleep. The room could have been cleaner, furniture had large stains in the seat, dirty carpet around base of beds. the Inn had no protocol for lost items, which caused me hours of; inconvience, stress, exaustion. It was my worst experience as a traveler. I hope never to return under the same management.
