Location, location, location!
What a great place to stay, right on the Freedom Trail-- the history of Boston all around us in this beautiful, well-appointed, elegant, renovated hotel! First, it is short walking distance to so many historical places like Faneuil Hall, Boston Massacre site, Boston Common, Old and New State Houses, Granary Buryial Ground (Paul Revere, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, among others are buried here) and many more. But the hotel itself is notable for its history! Its restaurant created the original Boston Cream Pie and was the location that John Kennedy proposed marriage to Jackie. Ho Chi Minh was a pastry chef there and Malcolm X was a busboy! The food is delicious and if you want to have a casual, lighter meal, you can eat in the bar, served by the same kitchen as the restaurant. Excellent sandwiches, salads and soups! Our room was spacious (we had a deluxe room), immaculate and extrememly comfortable. Customer service was excellent too. All staff was helpful, pleasant. While in the elegant lobby waiting for my husband, 3 different staff members approached me asking if I needed any help. The only negative I can think of is the small bathroom, but that is a minor drawback, considering all the pluses. We look forward to staying there again!
