Best Hotel I Ever Stayed At
By ,
The Hyatt in Boston was the nicest, cleanest, most efficent hotels i have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The customer service there was second to none. The rooms are extremely clean. The staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. I can't wait to go back. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning on visiting Boston.

This hotel doesn't have anything very special. One restaurant that is pricey. The service was top notch . My biggest problem was that it cost me $41 per night for parking for the hotel. That was totally ridiculous. A 3 night stay cost me $123 for parking!

I would not stay again.
By ,
Not a horrible stay but annoying, would only stay again if all other alternatives had been exhausted: Rooms are not sound proof, at all. You can hear every conversation and footstep as people walk down the hall. So bad I piled pillows and blankets against the door. The air conditioner will not let you run the fan continuously to create some white noise. Internet cost $10/day??? C'mon, its free for most other hotels I stay in. This is an antique policy. Cleanliness, not so good, had a long black hair stuck to the bathroom door for my entire stay. Room 1419, it might still be there. Elevators are slow when they do work correctly. They did not all the time. Workout center does not have any area to stretch, machines are piled in. Could not find any place to grab any complimentary coffee outside my room coffee maker, and that thing made a horrible cup of coffee, one cup at a time. They made you feel like they were doing a favor by letting you stay there. Their staff attitude was directly proportional to how you were dressed. I was site seeing so I did not dress up, my mistake I guess. Good location to walk to the local sites, subway only one block away which is the best way to get out and see the sites. The area is a bit gritty, would not feel comfortable walking around alone at night.

Outstanding.
By ,
I read some of the reviews that knocked this place. Those people are the kind that are never happy. My wife and I stayed just got back and the staff, location, hotel, and room were fantastic. Clean rooms with outstanding bed. every staff member was extremely helpful. We walked or took the subway everywhere. the subway is just around the corner. I will stay here every time I go to boston. It was worth every penny.

Underwhelmed
By ,
This Hyatt is not very "regency." No regency club, no coffee in the lobby, tiny gift shop with limited offerings, no special offerings or services even for Diamond Elite members, etc. Elevators are scary, tiny, and feel unstable. No waste cans in bath area or near sink. Bathroom is tiny. Room service trays are left on the floor of the hallways for hours and hours, with exposed remains of foods, and odors. Best offerings are comfortable beds, CD player, and good sight location.

Top In Town
By ,
It is located centrally in the city from where we get easy access to all important places to visit. The hospitality and the room configuration are great. Since it is renovately recently, the whole facilities are clean and perfect. The staff, managements are very proffessional , so that one wouldn't get problem any time.

Great location, otherwise average
By ,
The best thing to recommend this hotel is its location: a 10-15 minute walk to Faneuil Hall (slightly longer to Boston Common) and all of the Freedom Trail activities. We got off to a bad start when we arrived at the hotel and, despite my arrangement for "early check-in" at 12:30PM through my Hyatt Gold Passport membership, were told that our room was not ready as of 2PM. We were invited to leave our bags with the concierge and the hotel would call my cell phone when the room was ready. So, even though I had arranged for check-in at 12:30, I was not called until 5PM that a room was ready. After checking in, the concierge told us our bags would be sent up to our room. When our bags hadn't arrived after 30 minutes, I checked with a new concierge at which point he confessed to not knowing where our bags had gone to. After another 20 minutes, we eventually had our bags - apparently our bags were incorrectly stored in their "system" and it took them a while to find them. The only reason I gave three stars for service rating on this hotel is because the concierge himself busted his tail trying to find our bags. The hotel was also hosting the participants of a national basketball tournament as well as a university lacrosse team, which meant at least our floor and the floors above and below it were noisy. Apparently my request for a "quiet room" through the Hyatt web site was not able to be accomodated. One other annoyance is the fact that you must take two separate elevators to get to your room or down to street level: one elevator to the lobby, and another elevator either down to street level or up to rooms. Perhaps this wouldn't have been such a big deal if the hotel weren't as crowded, but after walking miles all day the last thing you want to do is wait 10 minutes to get up to your room. Finally, the hotel restaurant was unimpressive. A limited menu at above-average prices ($20+ per entree) discouraged us from eating there - we found better variety at lower prices elsewhere. Overall, we would stay at this hotel again based on its location; however, there were no other factors to elevate it above any other hotel experiences.

Location!

A great hotel in a great location. The staff is friendly and very helpful. With a major renovation just completed, this hotel shines. If you like health clubs, you'll love this one!
