Surprised by remarks- Love the Hyatt Boston
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/10
I am so surprised by these remarks; I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston several times and my stay is always remarkable! The staff go out of their way to remember myself and my wife each time we visit. I am most surprised by the Bed Bug suggestion; i have never had a problem with bed bugs at any Hyatt I have stayed at. The rooms are great and the new flat screen TV's are a fantastic change! See you again soon; keep up the good work!

We think the room had bed bugs
By Amanda, 6/11/10
We just stayed at the Hyatt Regency this past weekend. My friend's husband was up most of the night reading in the bathroom because he was awoken by itching legs accompanied by red bumps. In the morning I found what seemed to be a baby bed bug on the bed. We reported this to the front desk and they dismissed it saying they were sure it wasn't bed bugs. Also the carpet around the bed was dusty like it hadn't been vacuumed in awhile. Beware of bugs!

A Business Class Hotel
By Donna, 10/5/09
Staff & service were professional, amenities and hotel were nice but this place is for business travel. I would not bring a family here, I would look for a family oriented hotel (nothing against Hyatt). Location and room service were very good and, overall we were very pleased.

Not impressed
By LaTR, 9/9/09
We chose this hotel for its location close to my sister's apartment, and we soon realized that it would have been worth it to be a little farther away. The room wasn't very clean (moldy caulk in the shower - yuck!), we were given only two sets of towels and glasses for a family of four, and the lighting did not allow the people in one bed to read while the people in the other bed slept (crucial for us, two parents on vacation with our two kids), forcing all of us to go to bed at 8 PM. Worst of all: 1) The refrigertor was full of mini-bar items. You could not have these items removed so you could use the refrigerator for your own items (we had one child who still uses a sippy cup, so this was important to us). Instead, you had to pay $25 to have another refrigerator brought up to your room. If you moved anything in the main refrigerator, there were sensors underneath each item that automatically charged your room for that item. 2) The hot water was at least 180 degrees, well above the 120 degrees that is safe for children. My daughter was nearly scalded while taking a bath when my husband was trying to warm up the water (he did not know the hot water was that hot) and we had to turn the water in the sink on for my son so that he wouldn't get burned adjusting it himself. Our sister will be in Boston for another year, and although we may visit her again, we'll definitely be staying somewhere else.

I would not stay again.
By Brenda, 6/28/09
Not a horrible stay but annoying, would only stay again if all other alternatives had been exhausted: Rooms are not sound proof, at all. You can hear every conversation and footstep as people walk down the hall. So bad I piled pillows and blankets against the door. The air conditioner will not let you run the fan continuously to create some white noise. Internet cost $10/day??? C'mon, its free for most other hotels I stay in. This is an antique policy. Cleanliness, not so good, had a long black hair stuck to the bathroom door for my entire stay. Room 1419, it might still be there. Elevators are slow when they do work correctly. They did not all the time. Workout center does not have any area to stretch, machines are piled in. Could not find any place to grab any complimentary coffee outside my room coffee maker, and that thing made a horrible cup of coffee, one cup at a time. They made you feel like they were doing a favor by letting you stay there. Their staff attitude was directly proportional to how you were dressed. I was site seeing so I did not dress up, my mistake I guess. Good location to walk to the local sites, subway only one block away which is the best way to get out and see the sites. The area is a bit gritty, would not feel comfortable walking around alone at night.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
By Christine B, 6/8/09
Just stayed at this hotel this past Saturday... The service was awful! We had a bachelorette party and rented 4 rooms and a Suite. So needless to say we were spending a lot of money here. We all met in the Suite before going out. The hotel came to our room at 9:30 pm with a noise complaint. Everyone immediately left the room and went back to there own room. We decided we could meet out front. I was very nice to the hotel staff that came up to give the complaint. I apologized for this and let them know this would not happen again. We got ready and went out. When we came back we saw that they had come into our room and took the alcohol we had. That's stealing. We are all in our 30's not 12 years old. Then when checking out they charged us to comp the room next to us.. We only got one complaint and then left. There were not multiple complaints.. We were guests also. If there had been multiple complaints I totally would understand! Besides all of this the people working here were extremely rude all over. There are way to many hotels to stay at in the city to be treated like this. NOT WORTH STAYING HERE!

Couldn't be better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/08
Maybe it isn't brand new everywhere you look but it is more than nice. Staff could be rated 6 star. Loved our 3 day weekend and can't imagine how they could improve on it.

service was great but hotel was a dump
By srtoady, 8/25/08
Attended a seminer for 3 days expecting the top o the line facilities. In the hotel lobby they have a sign announcing a recent 10 million dollar in upgrades, they got ripped off. rugs that are lifting off of floor, broken chandaliers, dents and dings all over the place, look more like a cheap hotel then an overprice 5 star hotel. walls very thin, had problems with guests on certain floor at 2:00 am and when security escorted female to her room he tried to pick her up. No where near worth the price you pay for such a dump. I have seen hotel 8's in better shape....

Wonderful Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/08
My wife and I have stayed in many hotels and resorts in the US and Caribbean and have to say that our time spent at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown was a wonderful experience. The hotel was full of professional staff who did everything in their power to allow us to have a good time while make us feel the comfort of our home. Overall we particularly enjoyed the Patio Bar located outside. The service, food, and drinks combined with the atmosphere and location made it a fantastic location to wind down after a long day in the city. From one vacationer to the next, I truly hope that any future patrons will see it for themselves and not just take our word for it. Salute!
