Save yourself, find a better hotel
This is the most terrible hotel I have ever paid $100+/night to stay in. Starting from check-in, I was treated to a dismal display of inept and inhospitable treatment.
First, I was given a room that was already occupied. After trundling my luggage back and forth to the far end of the hotel for this experience, I had to listen to the desk clerk make the lamest excuses (as if I cared why I just scared some poor lady half to death innocently thinking it was my room, and unoccupied).
Then, it turned out that the hotel Internet access barely worked, but rather than actually help me, the front desk told me to call the 800 number for the hotel's ISP. Excuse me? I don't work for Wyndham. After a lot of haggling, the hotel's technician was sent up. Poor guy - it seems that the entire hotel has a bad internet connection, and he is kept busy day and night responding to complaints about which he could do very little. All this for an extra $10/night, when most good hotels (such as Starwood brands) are offering free Internet. The next day, I was shocked to learn that the $10 I paid for not being able to connect to the internet in the room the night before, would not permit me to access the Internet from the lobby!
So, I resigned myself to get some breakfast and await my ride to my meeting. Surprise, the breakfast buffet - except that there was no one manning the buffet and I had to wait at least 10 minutes for the cook to "come back from break" and provide me with some food. For a 500+ room hotel, charging $100+/night, I would think that they could hire some staff to serve the guests. Never mind the fact that this was the DIRTIEST hotel I've stayed in since I got stuck in a Motel 6. The whole place stank of smoke, the bar was seedy, with the barkeep more interested in reading the newspapers than getting me a drink, check, etc, the carpets look like they haven't been cleaned since the Reagan administation, etc.
TO TOP IT ALL OFF - when I had finally had enough and asked the girl at the desk (who was all by herself trying to check in/out guests, answer phones from complaining inmates/guests, and do everything else under the sun) where I could find a manager to discuss my bad experience in this hotel, I was stunned to learn that THERE WAS NO MANAGER ON-DUTY!!! What? At 9-10am on a weekday?
At this point I gave up all hope of walking away from this feeling like there was some reason that this hotel was such a dump. I will never stay in a Wyndham again.
