Annapolis Loew's Hotel - Great Bartender
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/09
The hotel did not have a pool. Meals in the Breeze Restaurant were slow, over priced and not cooked to order. The restaurant had little to no atmosphere. Beds were comfortable and front desk folks were nice. The bar theme was the old tired sports bar theme, tables and chairs seem to have seen better days. They need to upgrade the bar and be a little more sophisticated to match the rest of the hotel. The hotel charged extra for everything from parking, internet, and breakfast. I had to go to the bar to get help to connect to the internet. The daytime Bartender Jeff seemed to be in a daze, was a little slow, not very friendly and was useless in our quest to connect to the internet. The Evening bartender Martin was the complete opposite and extremely friendly. He bent over backwards and helped us pick out a restaurant out on the town that fit our needs. He gave us a map circling points of interest and was an expert in his knowledge about the town. He even suggested we take the water taxi over to our restaurant for a memorable evening. He was absolutely correct. The next day we were back and he gave us new suggestions for activities in the town. Martin made our vacation wonderful. I would suggestion you ask for him to help you with your travel needs. The hotel was in walking distance to downtown. Shuttle was not running so we were put into a taxi. Beware the Taxi company they recommend pays a commission to the individual front desk attendant that calls the cab. You would do better to call a company yourself, we felt a little cheated when we learned this fact from the Westin Hotel front desk clerk.
