Waves Oceanfront Resort, Old Orchard Beach

WE JUST STAYED AT WAVES AND THE RESORT IS VERY NICE. THE WATERFRONT IS WONDERFUL AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS BEACHY. WE USUALLY BOOK THE MARRIOTT WHEN WE TRAVEL- WE RECOMMEND WAVES ITS A FUN PLACE TO STAY.

OVerall very nice and comfy but the train runs about 50 feet behind our room! Runs all night! Overall good but beware of the train!

Went there with my sister's AAU basketball team for a local tournament. Most rooms are old, outdated and dirty. Very few rooms actually face the ocean and the view is not what I would consider "oceanfront." The only rooms that may be worth staying at in a pinch are in the newer buildings across the street. The place is what I would call I dump and is probably frequented by trashy families and large groups. The price you pay must go directly into the owner's pockets, because the rooms are just outdated and dirty. The kitchenettes they brag about on their website are noting more than a old 70s refrigerator and a pos stove. The microwave in our room did not work. The TV was old and the bed linens did not appear to be the cleanest around. Stay away and beware.

This was in my opinion one of the nicer hotels i've stayed at. The staff was accomidating. The balcany was very comfortable, relaxing, and entertaining. The only things that were a concern was the train in the middle of the night, and the room was not cleaned until around 1 o'clock. Overall, this was a nice and comfortable hotel.

We found food next to and under the bed that was not ours! Linens did not appear clean either... You pay for the location, we will not return!

I was confused by this motel, the web site says ocean views, but the room they put us in only had a view of the office. we had no balcony, not even a stoop. the room was right next to the garage, it was like a mother in law apartment. the worst, is that there is a train that goes by four times in the night, starting at 330am. so not fun to wake up to that. when we went to see if we could change room we were told the motel was sold out and there was nothing they could do (mind you, the vacancy light was on all three nights we were there). i'm sure if we had a room that overlooked the ocean, and missed out on the train we would have enjoyed ourselves much more.

They messed up our reservation to begin with. The room was dirty. The windows were so dirty we had a hard time seeing our ocean view. It just has the look of a tired run down motel. Our daughter called it the Norman Bates Hotel. Resort is a very poor description of the facilities and they should be ashamed to call it such. We would never stay there again.
