Favorite Get-Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/08
My husband and I, and sometimes our dog, Dandy, have been visiting Rockland and staying at Trade Winds for many years, usually twice a year. It's such a great place - walking distance to lots of interesting things and restaurants, and so close to the water. The boardwalk is wonderful. The rooms and service have always been very good and pleasant.

What a shame....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/07
They would never get my business, as a time share or a hotel. They only have 2 rooms available to see for a time share offer i went to see... while nice, (not used for hotel customers id say) they are small...and walking to them is NOT nice...suroundings are a mess, as they are under construction. The view is only good if you get the right room, and to see the view, you need to look over the parking lot first. I went for a time share pitch. which wasn't worth my time. Out of the 3 gifts i received, only the gift card to Home Depot was able to be used....the $1000 shopping spree is for a place online that charges more shipping then the product is even worth! Example....a pair of office sissors, worth 1.38 (many sites sell same brand) pair of sissors is going for 4.27, but wait.....you have to pay 14.95 to have them shipped!!! Its a joke! 4 round trip tickets can be used almost anywhere, if you want to spend 1500.00 to stay in hotels they require!! Oh...you can fly and stay with family, but you still have to pay for the hotel room!! Then add on some taxes and fees.....nope.......not free. Pitiful place going in the wrong direction!

Lovely Stay In New England
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/07
I had a very pleasant three-day stay at the Trade Winds. The view is extraordinary, the staff very pleasant and the room clean and tidy. The Maine Lighthouse Museum is just across the street and the Rockland Lighthouse is just out the window. Luckily I brought my own hairdryer and didn't require an iron and ironing board, because these are not provided. However, they do have a nice indoor pool and exercise facility. As I told the staff at checkout, "I'll be staying here every time I return to the Camden area". Can't beat the value.

Great Location
By MartinS, 09/20/07
The room was clean and gave us what we wanted. It was a little hard to navigate around the hotel due to the additons and different wings, etc. but soon found our way around. The roof sitting area is wonderfully cool in the summer and early fall. Great view up there, too. BYOB and relax!

Loved Maine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/07
We stayed at the Trade Winds Motor Inn, in August of 07 and absolutely loved it. The hotel is a little old but you can not beat the view or the staff. Our luggage was lost and they were very accomodating in helping us get it back in a timely manner. The food at the restaurant was great and the people could not have been any friendlier. We are definitely going back and will stay here every time!

paper thin walls
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/07
My husband and decided to stay the night here because we were going to a condo presentation the next day, when we first got to the room it had a very strong smell to it, I was upset because there was not a hairdryer in the room and I didnt bring one, even motel 6 has hairdryers but anyway,as soon as we got there we could hear everything going on in the other rooms and outside, I think the walls were made of paper, all night there was a radio on in the room next to ours and a guy who thought he could sing belting out the oldies, also do not go in the elevator, the fire dep. had to come and help some people who got stuck on it at about 11pm. at 6:30 am the people upstairs were getting up and every step they took we could here,no need for an alarm clock, even if you wanted to sleep in. on the other hand the food was good except for the 3 flies that wouldnt leave us alone. oh the condos were beautiful, but the cigarette butts that were on the deck from the deck above were a bit of a turn off.

Great "Budget" motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
We have stayed here twice, both times we were more than satisfied. You can't beat the location - walking distance to great restaurants, great view of the harbor, well maintained.
