Needs Updates!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/08
Great Customer service. Rooms need updating. Tub did not drain right, Peeling paint falling in tub. Did not honor New years eve package as they had said.

Nice location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/07
This hotel was very easy to get to. We could be in downtown Portland in 15 - 20 minutes with traffic. Several eating places with walking distance. Several shopping areas across the street you can walk to. Staff was very friendly. We stayed here 2 nights. The Maine mall is not far and there is a great seafood restraurant called Weathervane by the mall. Great prices. We spent the day in downtown Portland and then came back to the Mall for a short time. Has a small but nice pool for kids. I would stay here again. KD

never go back
By Kathleen, 07/09/07
We were changing in our room for a reception and a man walked right in claiming he had a facecloth for us. We had not asked for one and he never even knocked. We nearly checked out at that point and I would never return to a hotel with such poor security. We can be reached at 727-3172, Warren Pressley

Musty old place, facelifted
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/06
While the friendly check-in person halfheartedly tried to convince me that my $105 price was some sort of bargain, compared to the 'normal' rate, I was not impressed. The furnishings in the room were new, and nice - let me start with that. As promised, the wifi internet worked well - good signal. However, entering the hallway to my room reminded me of walking into an old officer's club somewhere - musty, rancid odor. My room featured a toilet that ran continuously; when I opened the back to see about doing a quick fix, I was confronted with hardware that appeared at least thirty years old. Arriving after 8 at night, dead tired from hours of driving in pouring rain, I didn't feel like dealing with the maintenance people...I closed the door to keep the sound from driving me nuts. So, when I checked out, I delivered a note to the front desk mentioning this obviously long-standing problem - along with a couple of long, black hairs from the tub that the cleaning crew apparently deigned unworthy of removal after the previous visitor. Pretty much what I've learned to expect from Holiday Inn. Not my first choice, ever.

Park and fly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/05
Takes less than 15 minutes for the free shuttle to the airport. Too bad getting to the Max light rail connection means you have to take the shuttle to the airport too...the train took 20 minutes to get to downtown but ...clean and great access to downtown resturants and shops.

Good overnight stay
By Nathan, 06/03/05
I had a good overall experience. The front desk was attentive, but house keeping and maintenance personnel didn't smile or say hi. However, the rooms were very clean. The room heater fan ran constantly when the heater was on and the pillows were not comfortable. The location is convenient to I-95, but the entrance is difficult to enter. The inn's smaller bar and restaruant are adequent. There is a voucher given at check in for up to $12.00 per room for breakfest and there are free hors d'oeuvres during happy hour in the bar. There is a good, although small, fitness room with a hot tub and sauna. The universal weight machine is old and needs an upgrade. The tread machine are in good condition. This holiday inn would be a good place for a shorter convention or for a one or two night stay if traveling through. The hotel is outside the Portland's Old Port area and Maine Mall, but both are with in a reasonable 10-15 minute drive.
