Lovely Visit
By Karen Urick, 10/6/09
We just stayed at the Fisherman's Wharf Inn. We stumbled on to the Inn as we were driving around and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man, Dan. The gal at the desk was also very nice. The location was just great. The valet service was super and with the elevator, very convenient. The food was good--lobster dinner and complimentary breakfast. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are begging to be redone. We had a nice view but everything in the room could stand replacing. We had a king room with a balcony.

A yearly trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/20/07
Love the location...right in town!! We always stay over the water on the 3rd floor and love the view from our private balcony. As we have gotten older...the valet service is a godsend!! That new elevator is super!! The restuarant has not only the best food but also the best view!! We are looking forward to our visit in June again!

Disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/06
I just spent a night at the Fisherman's Wharf after attending a concert at the Opera House on Wednesday night. I found the rooms to be old and walls were very thin. Beds could have been cleaner. A very noisy area if you are looking for peace and quiet. The views were nice from some of the rooms. They offer a complimentary breakfast that we missed by about 15 minutes. When I asked one of the waitresses if they were still serving, she just abruptly said the breakfast was over at 10am. Not very friendly. I probably would stay elsewhere next time I'm in Boothbay Harbor.

We had a great time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/06
I recently stayed at the Fisherman's Wharf Inn for a wedding. This was a great place to have a wedding, since the Inn is right on the water, surrounded by docks, boats, and shops... plenty of great Maine lobster! I will agree with other reviewers and say that the rooms a bit outdated. I opted for a slightly more expensive room with a king size bed, which had a slightly better view of the bay. It appears they may be in the process of updating rooms. Our room was very small and outdated, but clean. The bath room was very tiny. A few others attending the wedding had cheaper rooms with a slightly less view that were updated and seemed much bigger - 2 queen beds but larger overall room and much larger bath room. Because of the wedding, I saw several rooms and found it funny how every room seemed to have a different size TV. Didn't matter.. we didn't watch TV anyway. All rooms seemed to have a balcony and at least some sort of view of the bay. Parking at the Inn is valet. It didn't seem to crowded when we were there, so we had no issues with this. The service at the Inn was excellent. Everyone was very friendly. The Inn has a resturant, bar, and a gift shop. You will find the items in the gift shop at other shops just outside the Inn for cheaper. We found that most of the shops at Booth Bay close at 9:00PM. Most of the resturants were also pretty empty during our stay(June 23rd to 25th). There is a good pizza joint and bar/eatery next to the Inn which was open late. We found prices in the shops were reasonable (I am from MA). Booth bay has a fantastic ice cream shop and the best taffy. Also lots of lobster/seafood. Other things you can do: fishing, whale watch, bay cruise, and nearby golf. In closing, I would say that the Fisherman's Wharf is probably one of the best places to stay on Booth Bay.

It was excellent!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/06
The location is great and the food is wonderful, you cannot beat the views and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was fine, except that the chair could have been more comfortable !!! Bathroom was very clean. I would highly recommend to anyone and can hardly wait to return !! I even forgot something and they were happy to mail it to me. We were on a golf package and the value was alot for what it cost especailly to be right on the harbor in the heart of town!!!

A fun stay
We enjoyed our visit. The room was clean and service was fine. It's nothing fancy, but we liked overlooking the water and being within walking distance to the stores and restaurants in Boothbay Harbor.

Disappointing
Very disappointed. Older hotel needs facelift. Front desk staff not friendly. Don't bother to pay for a harbor view, most of the rooms views are "obstructed" by large boats that they rent the pier space to. The boat in front of our room even put up his large sail for over an hour in the morning while we were sitting having coffee. We were misled by other reviews of this hotel. Trust your own insticts first. We stayed at the Tugboat last trip and regret our decision to try something different.

Perfect For Many Reasons!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/05
This was our 4th annual vacation to Boothbay Harbor and our 4th stay at Fisherman's Wharf. Many reasons to stay here, clean beautiful rooms, we always take a room with a balcony over the harbor... bacony seating is wonderful esp. in the morning and evening! Great staff, friendly & helpful. Located within walking distance to ALL BOAT TRIPS and also to shopping, dining and nightlife. There are slightly cheaper lodgings nearby but you will spend the money you save on time spent driving to the Pier for boat trips, gas, and parking lot fees! Free continental breakfast with BREATHTAKING views in their dining area. Hotel is built ON the water, and the view is magnificent. The views and the convenience of everything you could possibly want to do make THIS HOTEL THE BEST! Happy stay!
