Quiet, Friendly, No-Frills
Stayed here in June of 2006 and the motel section had been renovated. Definitely an OLD property, but very clean. Motel rooms had a nice deck to sit and look at the ocean, good for anyone with small children as the "decks" are kinda fenced-in like a playpen, kids won't wander off. No pool, but the ocean and Moose Point State Park are nearby for beachcombing and hiking.
Maine is full of accomodations like this. Due to heavy demand, summer prices are high. Yet these places only fill-up during two months of the year, and you cannot continually renovate and update rooms when the "season" is always so short.
Some of the cottages looked newer than others, and the "beach" was mostly a pebble walkway near the ocean. A few restaurants close by but not really walking distance. Right on busy route 1, and light-sleepers might need earplugs in the motel section or in the higher-on-the-hill cottages. Beautiful view from most rooms and cottages.
