Bar Harbor Inn, Bar Harbor

My husband and I could only visit Bar Harbor in November, so our selection of places to stay was not as plentiful as it would have been in the summer. We had never been to Bar Harbor so we went online for our accomadations. We were very pleased with our choice. The Bar Harbor Inn was lovely.Our room overlooked the bay. I believe it was room 121. The decor was beautiful and we had a very large bathroom with a jetted tub.The main lobby offered a large inviting fireplace where we enjoyed afternoon tea with their freshly baked goodies.The staff was really great,from check-in to the young woman who delivered their firewood at 5:30am!{I'm a very early riser} We plan on returning and will be staying once again at the Bar Harbor Inn.

I loved the fact that I could smell the ocean every morning when I walked outside. This place is right near the downtown shops. The property is very well kept and beautiful. If you can get a good rate, I would recommend staying here.

The location was absolutely the best. My room was listed as partial harbor view, and was thus less expensive, but you could see the harbor from a little porch off the room and for a full view, you could walk out to a bench on the grounds, feet away. The room was huge and beautifully appointed. The staff was fairly friendly. The walls were a little thin. I'd suggest you ask not to have a family with loud voices and small children next door which I did have the second night. The restaurant was wonderful. For a fantastic, almost ridulously low rate, go off season. Mid-April was beautiful, inexpensive, but the place still had plenty of activity.

We stayed here this past week, off season rates made our ocean front room with balcony very affordable, a good value overall considering the location and also the complimentary continental breakfast. We were in a different building but the main building has fireplaces and a relaxed atmosphere. If there was one thing I would ask for that was different would be upgrade the 19 inch TV's, they are inconsistent with the decor and amenities offered.

We were there on our honeymoon in late sept., it was wonderful! People, location, shops, excursions, everything was GREAT! We were treated wonderfully by the staff, we ended up staying a bit longer! Even if you do not stay at that hotel, you must at least stop and visit the restaurant, the food is exquisite.

Hands down, one of the best vacations I have taken. Very romantic and plenty of things to do. Or if you just want to relax it is very quiet. The staff, location, room, and service were great. If you can take advantage of the Spring Fling. Great value.

We decided, after our first visit, to make this trip an annual tradition. But, I can't wait any longer, so we're going back six months later! Go! Hurry!

This was one fabulous vacation. We spent the entire time at this hotel, moving part-way through to get a better view. It was so worth it. The service was fabulous. They bent over backward to attend to our needs. Everyone was friendly and nice. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. It's right on the water - you get a free breakfast - you can walk ANYWHERE on Main street and did we walk! I loved it and can't wait to go back.

You simply cannot beat the beautiful setting of this lovely inn. I just loved sitting out on my balcony and watching the boats and kayakers pass by.
