bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
i stayed over the weekend and was disappointed as soon as we tried to park. the lot was full so the valet told us we had to park 2 blocks away and walk back to the hotel. we had alot of luggage so we pulled up to the front entrance, there was no bellman or anyone to help us so we had to struggle to get in. we also had problems with the hotel charging us for moving drinks in the fridge. the charges were taken away but we had to argue.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
This hotel was wonderful..It was our first time in New Orleans and this was the perfect place to stay. The staff was great very helpful, especially the doormen and our Bellman Rickey. The hotel was close to everything we had a wonderful time.

Honest Review for August 2005
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/05
I recently came back from a 7 day stay at the hotel and can say that this hotel definitely deserves a high rating for location, service and hospitality. Guest should be aware that even though its located a block away from Burbon Street, you might be kept awake some nights due to acapella street singers infront of the hotel (its great being serenaded to sleep). You shoud try the restaurant. The hotel gives you a complimentary bottle of wine with your meal. Order the oysters and steak if you can. If you are use to sleeping with a flat pillow than bring you own. The hotel does not provide really low pillows and so some mornings I would wake up with neck pain. The pool is smaller in real life than it is advertised on the website. Its only 5 1/2 feet deep. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I'm glad to report that I didn't encounter any paranormal activity. Definitely give it a try.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/1/05
Recently renovated. Clean, beautiful rooms. Great service. Very nice rooftop pool. All in the heart of the French Quarters which made for easy access to all the restaurants and shops. Only one street south of Rue Bourbon.. close, but away fro the noise. This was my seventh trip to New Orleans, and of all the places I've stayed, I would rate this #1.

Have been here many times-and will go back.
By Kay, 8/28/05
I love the 'old New Orleans' atomosphere this hotel has. The carosel bar is wonderful and the food and overall service is great. The rooms are unique and stylish. Best location in the Quarters-not too far to get all the noise and yet convenient to everything-including the trolley, casino and the river.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/9/06
I am 52, and I have visited and stayed at the Monteleone since I was 6 years old. It is definitely the hotel we stay when my family is in New Orleans. The lobey is from a style gone by.

The ONLY place to stay in the French Quarter
By Baccibleu, 11/14/06
This has to be one of the most well taken care of, beautiful hotels in New Orleans. I cannot brag enough about this place...its a MUST if you ever stay in the French Quarter.
