Rockwood Inn & Suites, Hammond

We booked a baby shower here a couple of weeks ago and it was the worst experience EVER. We were only in the building for 5 hours or so and by the time we left the mother to be was almost in tears. They rented us a room, that included tables, chairs, table clothes, ice, and the ice bin. Upong arrival, nothing was set up, the room was empty!! Despite the numerous phone calls to confirm exactly what was included. There were so many calls made because there is a horrible language barrier, the owners barely speak English. Which could have led to some miscommunication, but when the owners were confronted, they were RUDE and unprofessional. They showed no concern, no customer relations, and they never once offered to make things easier. Even when the grandmother asked for the table clothes they told her to go to the laudry mat and get them if she wanted them!! These people should not be running anything dealing with the public. The pool was molded, the conference rooms were dirty, the bathrooms were nasty and didn't have soap or paper towels. The entire hotel smells like smoke, despite that its non smoking. I have never experience such an upleasant transaction with hotel owners or workers. I will NEVER recommend this place.

The room was okay, but the employees can not take care of any problems. I was double charged for a 1 night stay, when i called was told only the owner named Mr. T could do a refund and they do not have a contact # for him. After 1 week of calling and waiting for MR T to show up i disputed the charges with my bank, this process will take over 2 weeks to settle. I asked for a print out of my credit card charges and the Manager stated was against the law to give me a copy of MY charges. This sounds a little fishy. I called the Permit office in Hammond, LA and the owner name is Pheonix Hammond, LLC. there is no registered phone # for this company.

I use to work for Rockwood and I can say that all they care about is SAVING MONEY! I can't tell you how many times me and other employees tried telling the manager and the owners and they refused to listen! All the cared about was making an extra dollar! The place is def not a safe place! They have mold soo bad in some of the rooms that they just closed them down so you couldn't get in them! Most of the rooms had bug problems along with water leaks! There is nothing good about Rockwood and I will tell anybody that ask! If they right people were to check it out, I can promise you they would be shut down in a heart beat!

My wife and I choose to stay in Hammond rather than travelling into New Orleans. I should have known better when I called to reserve my room and the man who ansered told me I would have to call back Mon, Wed, Fri between 9-3 to reserve a room. I wondered what kind of business it was but the young lady who called me back was warm and welcoming so I decided to stay. Big mistake! She was the only good thing about this place. The room smelled like mildew. the carpets were stained. I don't think the bed spreads had been washed in some time. When we checked in it was dark out, but in the full light of morning that had to be the most disgusting room I have ever slept in over 40 years of travelling. The walls were scuffed up. The wallpaper trimming the room had black mildew. The bathtub was yellow and apeared to be filthy. The best part was waking to find a trail of ants going from the head board up the wall. Their were ants in the bed we had not slept in. It was the worst nights sleep I have ever had on the road. If this place is indicitive of Hammond, I will not stop again. I will travel on to hurrican ravaged New Orleans.

When I got to my room it was filthy. The man at the desk refused to move my rooms and gave me cleaning supplies to clean my own room. My daughter was near an asthma attack from the awful smell. The man at the desk did not set my wake up call so I got off to a late start the following morning. It was awful. I wont go back again

my sister recently had her wedding here and i can tell you, we were not impressed. everything we were promised never came. the floors were a mess, carpets were dirty, the staff was very snotty and rude.the rooms were disgusting and the prices were very high for what we received. thank god our family pulled together and made her day a special one, even with all of the problems we had.

The entire hotel smells like smoke. You can hear every sound coming from the adjacent rooms. Our room was filthy - garbage was already in the garbage can; used towels were in the bathroom; the floors were dirty. We could feel every spring in the mattress. The mattress also had a nasty odor. I have never felt compelled to write a hotel review - until now. I wanted to leave, but it was 9:30 at night when we checked in and as I had already scoured the internet for hotel availability I knew we wouldn't have much luck finding a room. I now wish we had stayed in a hotel in a neighboring town.
