10 reviews for Holiday Inn Hurstbourne I-64E, Louisville
overall wonderful except bald bartender
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/09
everything but, as said, surly, unaccommadating and condescending jackass of a bartender

A fablous start to great vacation!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/09
the parking lot was not clearly marked, therefore it was hard toget in and out. Everything else was fabulous. Breakfast was good, the servers were great. Every employee that we encountered during our stay was friendly and polite, even when just passing in the hall. We will be back to see you soon.

Beware of These 5 Star Ratings
By Tom, 12/10/08
Look below at the 5 star reviews of this hotel. This hotel has a full time sales staff in their employ. It's quite obvious that an employee/manager made those reviews - because this place is a PIT! Nobody cares about the interior of the common areas as a major point of their stay. Even though the hotel spends most of it's renovation dollars in these areas - they are nothing like what you would find at a Marriott, Hyatt or whatever else they compare it to below. The guest rooms are dated, missing items & often unclean. Some employees are friendly, but overall the staff is unaccomodating to needs. Beds are uncormfortable, and rooms are noisy. The location makes getting in & out of the facility with traffic a nightmare. There are plenty of better hotels for the money in the area - go to one of those.

Not Accomodating!
By Vince Papale, 12/07/08
This hotel has a serious problem of trying to be something it is not. They market the hotel as a 'high service,' business oriented, convention type hotel. It is far from it. The night front desk manager, Marie Boone is about as unaccomodating as a service person can be. Special request? She'll do her best to see it is ignored (such as switching rooms). I really believe her make up is that of a control freak. She will lie straight to your face - most likely to save herself extra work that is part of her job. The hotel spends a lot of money catering to their lobby & common areas (I'm sure for event sales), and neglect their guest rooms. An example is the hotel will have a 'happy hour' pianist while a room with water damage and peeling wall paper is rented over & over for weeks. The rooms have walls that are paper thin & depending on the floor may have older furnishings or lack amenities (luggage stands & clothes hangars). It is common to find numerous items in the room missing or in disrepair. Families & partiers are placed in rooms directly next to business guests - assuring a lack of rest. The hotel advertises a free USA Today to your door each day (as a Prioirty Club Member) - they never deliver (literally). This speaks of laziness & lack of service! The restaurant is over priced and food of poor quality. Do yourself a favor and visit restaurants next door such as Friday's and Joe's Bayou instead of eating this slop. Other than the front desk battle ax mentioned above, there are some nice, friendly employees, but the number has fallen in recent years & the newer ones appear to lack training in customer service. The house keeping staff is below average. I have stayed in rooms that were clean in this hotel. However, I have stayed in many more rooms here that lacked attention to detail for cleanliness or maintenance. Perhaps most disturbing was an out break of bedbugs in Nov 2008. This hotel & their sales staff will tell you they are like a Marriott. They are far from it! It is a Holiday Inn and not a very good one.

Great Place!
By johnpap, 08/06/08
This is the best Hotel experiance I have ever had. Can't believe this treasure is a Holiday Inn. The property inside looks like a Marriott or High level hotel brand. Great Staff. They all introduce themselves. A memorable experiance.

Older but still nice
By MaryL, 07/28/08
Pros: The service was good and the interior of the hotel was nice. It was quiet as well. When the hot tub was too hot maintenance took care of it immediately and even brought fresh, hot towels. They are updating the interior as well. The room was spacious and the bed linens nice. Cons: The outside of the hotel looks rather run down. Their sinage is old and there is the remainder of an old restaurant next door. The sign from the road has you drive through a gas station parking lot to get to the hotel, although there is a street access which you see after the fact. It does not look as high class as many of the nearby hotels. If driving by I would not have chosen this hotel based on the outward appearance.

The Best!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
This is the absolute best hotel I've stayed at in Louisville. This Holiday Inn reminds me of a Hilton or Hyatt. The lobby is absolutely breathtaking.

Exceptional Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/07
My family stayed at this hotel for almost two weeks. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel restaurant offered a good variety and the food was excellent. Room Service was quicker than any other hotel I've ever stayed in, the food was excellent and the portions were generous. What really made this hotel stand apart was the responsive and attentive service. It's very apparent the manager is doing his job right. The entire staff from the restaurant to housekeeping were friendly and helpful. The few requests I made were taken care of quickly. I felt they truly cared about their jobs and taking care of their hotel guests. I will definitely be back and will recommend them to anyone traveling in the Louisville area.

great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/05
I like the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, and especially the helpfulness of the head housekeeper when I left my shoes behind! The open bar (yogurt, snacks, coffee, etc.) is great for late arrivals and early morning departures. It is a real pleasure to stay here! Joan Howey

Stay all night I did!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/05
The room I had was clean and you had room to move around with stubbing you toe. I would stay again.
