Gold Vault Inn, Radcliff

The Gold Vault Inn was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet for being a rather busy motel. My wife and I spent two pleasant nights there (Aug. 2007) when we drove out to Fort Knox to see our son graduate from bootcamp.

I thought this hotel was great compared to the other hotels nearby. It was nice and clean. Great location. Nice breakfast bar. The only thing I didnt like was the hotel desk cleark that was there, her son was always on the computer down in the lobby where guests could not use it.

Likes: clean; convientent location to shopping and travel (interstate and other main routes; close to Ft Knox; pool side room with seating next to the indoor pool right outside of my door; wires internet connection (signal very strong, no problems) Dislikes: pool side room with seating next to the indoor pool right outside of my door, school was out and there were a lot of children (young and old) enjoying themselves; I had to take my keycard to the desk twice to get it reactivated. I was finally informed that having the keycard by an electronic device (computer, cell phone)may cause it to malfunction. News to me; hard bed. Be advised though, this wasn't a real turn-off for myself but this was a part of my experience. It is what it is. I'm goin' back real soon.

I was told the hotel had a router and was wired for Wi-Fi. After I checked in, I tried to get on line and discovered I had to go out in the hallway, as suggested by the front desk to pick up the router. Once I finally got on line, I could only receive email and could not send email. I was very disappointed and the Wi-Fi was the main reason I chose this hotel. The staff was friendly though and the room was above average. If you have business at Fort Knox, this is the perfect place to stay, if you don't need to send email.

1st room had a "smell" & was able to change rooms. Has Galaga the video game, I cant wait to go back & play!!! Location is great, food establishments nearby.
