When making reservation owner was so congenial. Explained if I made the reservations for 2 nights could cancel the second night without a problem as long as it was done on the day of the second nights stay before 4PM. I repeatedly questioned this as the reason for staying was for a funeral and we were unsure the if the widow expected my husband to stay in town longer. The morning of July 1, 2010 my husband and cousin left their room with all belongings and turned in their room key before 11:00 am. Usually this is checking out for that day. They went to the church a few blocks away, saw the distraught widow and then returned to the hotel lobby to discuss what to do. Between 12:30 and 1:00 they went to the desk to cancel that nights stay and were told they could not, it had to be done at time of check out which was 11:00 am, so they would be charged for the second night.That is not what I was told on the phone. All they could figure was this place is desparate for business, very few cars in the parking lot the night before. Upon his arriving home, I called to express my dissatisfaction and to talk to Ramiz about the situation. He would not hear my side and continually hung up and told me not to call back. I called choice hotels corporate offices and they said this is the hotels policy. I will never book thru choice hotels in the future. I told whomever I spoke at choice hotels that the owner should learn to articulate the policy as it is written, because that is not what was done. I also called the motel that recommended Econolodge and explained my scenario and suggested they not recommend this motel in the future. They agreed. This in not the America I am used to doing business and hope this isn't a sign of the future. Being in town for a funeral of a brother is tough enough without being scammed for the almighty dollar. I would not recommed this facility to anyone. I would rate it a 3 for everything other than service that would be 0.

The rooms were very small but had a nice one by the pool, which since it was still April I did not use, but it looked nice and big. I think it would be a fun cozy hangout for couples in the summertime, a little small for kids. Like I said, it was not very new but if you are into "the old days" you'll like the small town feel where you can drive right up to your door. The continental buffet was EXCELLENT, very fresh and the cold stuff was cold, hot stuff was hot. The variety was great. Not a lot of extras, but a good value and a good location in the center of everything.

I liked this motel. Very good price for the area, I got a discounted room for $51 plus tax. Outdoor pool was nice. The best part was the breakfast. As a business traveller I can say this was one of the best. Lots of selection, variety a mix of sweets and healthy food. I would certainly stay again when in town.
