Liberal Inn, Liberal

My family really liked this hotel. The rooms were very nice & clean & the convience of a restaurant & lounge on the property was so nice & easy. The staff was so caring & friendly & the food was fantastic. We had great steaks, liver & onions plus fried chicken like mom made. Whether we travelf for vacation or business this will be our choice. Great Choice!

This was a great choice. We had a beautiful room plus the food in the restaurant was very good & we had a few cocktails & could walk to our room without worrying about driving back to our room. The rates are great along with the restaurant prices. Any time I am in Liberal, I will stay here.

Of the plethora of hotels one can stay at in Liberal, KS, this has to be one of the worst choices. The whole hotel smelled of cigarettes (even the non-smoking rooms). We awoke bright and early to the sound of a dog barking and howling in an adjoining room. We called the staff and they did not care enough to do anything. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

My son had called to office & asked about the a/c - told them not working and the room was very hot. They couldn't fix and told him there was no other room available. It was 85 degree. Next morning he made a complaint he was told Sorry - but they made no effort to compensate by reducing the price of the room or other perk. The credit card I disputed the charge to told me that because he had actually spent the night in the room - never mind that the service was substandard - that they could not actually dispute the cost. So I suppose after driving for 10-12 hrs and being tired that your suppose to get up in the middle of the night and leave the hotel room - because the service was inferior. Sounds like a real cop out to me. What would you have done?

There is no way to avoid the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke in this motel. The smoke-filled bar is right next to the lobby, which was also smoke filled--the employee in the back office was smoking as I was checking in. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. There were chunks of mud on the carpet leading into the lobby--when I commented on it the clerk stated "Oh yea. The guys from the oil fields tracked that in on their way to the bar." The furniture in the rooms needed repaired--lots of chips in the veneer, etc. The carpet was not completely vacuumed in the bathroom area. The motel has been retrofitted externally and basically looked and felt like a prison. It was terrible!

Each time I visited Liberal I try to stay here. Clean, quiet, and since I am usually traveling alone the staff always makes sure I get to and from the parking lot safely. Would recommend it to anyone.

the staff was rude except one, the head bartender was just as rude as anyone can get, just real unfrindly as was the waiterss. I would NOT recomend this palce to my worst emeny.

Our adjoining rooms, located in the south wing, were a smokers delight! Not only did our NO-SMOKING rooms smell like stale cigarettes, one of our rooms had an ash tray with matches in it! The enclosed space outside the rooms also smelled of stale smoke. The best treat for you smokers out there, however, is that you don't have to light up to get your nicotine rush. Just turn on the central Heating/AC system and you'll be bathed in all the stale tobacco product residues you could ever wish for! The staff was very courteous when we asked for a room without ashtrays, but the new room was only a little better than the last - mostly because the fan that draws air from the central air system was inoperable. For you non-smokers out there - stay somewhere else.

In one word? WOW! I've been staying at the Liberal Inn for about 17 years now and they have never let me down. Pool. Hot tub. Restaurant/Lounge. What else is there in a hotel? Oh yea, and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and always willing to go out of their way to lend a helping hand. Can't wait to stay there again!!

Conveniently located next to world-class slaughterhouses, The Liberal Inn is charming. The Branding Iron Restaurant is first class. Sous Chef Pierre Laeufan makes a delightful plate of ham, eggs, Ore Ida hash browns and grits. The little misses and I truly enjoyed the green carpet throughout the room, and the convenient fluorescent lighting. The absence of an exaust fan in the bathroom gave the room that 1880's cottage-like feel.
