Never again
By Amy, 06/28/09
When I travel, I usually stay at the Marriott. This was by far the worst night stay I have had with a Marriott. Everything is extra internet, parking and there is no continental breakfast. On a more positive note, the bed was compfy and the rooms appeared clean. The staff was also friendly. We arrived late and I wanted a snack..no vending machines, but the front dest opened the gift shop so I could grab a snack.

check before you go!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/09
We booked hotel as a Host hotel for our karate tournament but unknown to us that there was also a Church group from Kenya booked at the same weekend. They kept guest up all night running around, elevators full, can't use any facilites. We should have been given the option to refuse the room and go to another hotel or at least moved to the top floors.

Motel 6 would have been better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
Having stayed at Marriotts in the past, this is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered. It took 20 minutes to get the elevator down six floors and then back up; the reception of the TV in the room was so bad I couldn't see most of the picture; they advertise internet services but forget to tell you the charge is $10 a day (from noon to noon); when the power went out, we asked if we got a discount and the curt response was "No." Although the room was clean, the overall appearance of the hotel was rather dirty. Additionally, the bathrooms were small and cramped.

Disappointed
By Randall, 02/24/06
Lackluster and Tired. This facility needs a major makeover. I was slightly suprised for a Marriott facility to look this dingy. The carpets were dull. The decor was dull. The towels were dull. The room I was given (1 queen) was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The staff however was pretty nice. I might stay here again but only after trying out a couple of other places first.

Poor Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/05
If you like to be downtown in a congested area, then you may like this hotel. I prefer easy access and convenience to everything, which this was not.

We needed this
By SarahH, 05/11/05
We were traveling across county in the summer and it was starting to get dark. We pulled off into South Bend and were just driving around looking for a hotel. The Marriot jumped out at us and we got a room there. Everyone was very accomidating. We had out dog with us and they allowed him to stay with us and they directed us to some good walking routes. The pool was great for blowing off some steam. This was all in the summertime when South Bend is nearly deserted, but we loved the gracious hospitality.
