Holiday Inn Terre Haute, Terre Haute

We had high hopes for this hotel based on other reviews, butI have to say we were very disappointed. We had to change rooms when we first arrived because our first room was dirty- sticky table, hair all over the bathroom floor and a funky smell. ur secound room was only slightly better- at least the table wasn't sticky, but there was still hair in the bahroom floor. While the beds were comfortable (which I guess is the most important thing) there is no fan in the bathroom so it stays very steamy, no condiments for the coffee, and all in all an old and slightly dirty hotel. I would, however, recommend the resturant and the pool area. Both seemed clean and well kept and the resturant food and staff were excellent. It probably wasn't the best choice for us, but live and learn

About 2 years ago, some family and myself stayed here during Christmas weekend to just get away. We had a lot of fun in the pool, game area, and the business centers. It's right next to shopping and all kinds of places to eat. We one night ordered food from the place in the hotel and it was pretty good. It was really nice and clean. However, I do have a few complaints. We stayed in the rooms over by the pool and they aren't marked very well also the front desk staff just told us that were on the 2nd floor. She didn't say where the room was actually located. We had to ask a housekeeper how to get to our room. The bathrooms didn't have exhasut fans, or if they did they weren't noticeable. I do work at a Holiday Inn Express about an hour west of the Terre Haute property that has them but they aren't the greatest. After taking a shower, the bathroom was full of steam for quite some time. My younger brother, myself, and my younger step brother stayed in one room and everyone else stayed in another next to us. The three of us were awaken at about 6 in the morning to a lady in the other room next to ours laughing hysterically. I take it she was on her cell phone because we could all three hear everything she said.

Bibles are everywhere! They are displayed on BOOKHOLDERS in each room on a center table and are opened to various chapters (probably those dealing with sinful acts). Pictures of religious icons hang on the walls of the offices near the front desk as if to warn you against any non-church sanctioned activity. PDAs are not allowed outside of the rooms (and who knows, maybe not even in the rooms... At least I didn't get caught by the Jesus Patrol). If you feel a 'sin' coming on, stay elsewhere unless you want a rap on the knuckles by some of the more angry and uptight staff members who may or may not make you do penance before checking you in. If you must stay here, bring your chasity belt and certificate of virginity. It would also help if you wore a rosary and were a member of the clergy.

We stayed 3 nights at Holiday Inn in Terre Haute. On the first night, the first room we were in had wet carpet from a leaking air conditioner. We were assigned another room, only this room's entry lock didn't work. It also required maintenance. On the third night, our key stopped working - requiring another trip to the front desk for assistance. Once we got finally got in the room, I found that housekeeping had thrown away my mouthguard that I use to prevent grinding my teeth. For the price, I was very dissapointed our experience.

They were so friendly and helpful. I had to do some work at a nearby college and needed to work late on check out day. They gave me a 2PM check out so that my husband would have a place to stay until I was finished. I recently called to make new reservations and they were more than accomidating as well as giving me an excellent dicounted rate through the college. This is the only place I will stay from now on in Terre Haute.

The price is right and they are family friendly and my family feels so welcome when we are there. The pool is wonderful and we can play pool, ping pong and other games. The 2 resturants are yummy and very well priced. We love it!

The Clean, relaxing atmosphere. The room was great,it was equipped wsith all the essentials that we needed to make our stay possible! The location was excellent! We were able to access all the popular spots with ease. I really enjoyed the time I spent there.

The entire hotel has a beautiful decor, and is very inviting. I Have never had any complaints when I have stayed here.
