The Talbott Hotel, Chicago

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great.

Last week my son & I went on a 2-day getaway before he left for college. The room was very nice; but Stephanie, the concierge, made our stay especially nice by making some great tailored suggestions on places to eat & shop. Stephanie, thanks for making our stay memorable!

7 of us ( all Irish guys ) stayed in the Talbott for 5 nights in April. Can't recommend it highly enough. Nice spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff and perfect location just 5 mins from Michigan Ave !! Around the corner is the start of the Rush Street bar frenzy !! The one minor downside was the building site next door which had most of us awake early depending on which side of the hotel your room was on. It wasn't a problem for us as we were rising early anyway to get a good run at the day !! Enjoy the Talbott and say hello to them from the Irish boys !!

We spent a lot of time trying to decide where to stay for a three day weekend in Chicago. We wanted to see a few shows, go to the Field Museum, do some shopping and try a few restaurants. My wife and I rented the one bedroom suite (it felt huge) and it was perfect. The hotel was very quiet and it almost felt as if we were at home. I didn't find the rooms to be 'tired', as some reviews suggested. I suspect the rooms have been updated since some of the reviews were written. The concierge was very helpful, EVERYONE was very friendly, and the location was perfect. If you don't want to eat breakfast at the hotel (as some reviews mentioned), there is a Starbuck's right across the street and, even better, there is a "Corner Bakery" (think Panera) at East Elm (I think) and Rush that is about a 5-7 minute walk. We used the free wireless internet to stream jazz in the morning (with a cup of coffee) and it couldn't have been more relaxing. Bed was very comfortable and we found the elevators to be pretty quick. I routinely stay at 'business' hotels and the Westin was going to be our backup plan. This was a great change of pace and we will definitely do it again.

I like the Talbott and haven't stayed there yet. I made and cancelled several res's for two different weekends. Finally got it right--called to verify I had just ONE res. Expected a little attitude. Not so. They assured me all was well. All other res cancelled and I was set for my weekend! Looking forward to my visit.

This hotel is great! My business partner and I stayed only for a night.We experienced the best service and the rooms were clean. I like the small hotel feel.

A group of my friends visit the Talbot every year on an annual girl's weekend getaway. We've talked about going to other cities or other hotels in Chicago and we just can't do it! The Talbot feels like home now and we plan to go for many more years. The location is a big plus, the room and its ammenities serve us very well, but what we really enjoy is the staff. From the gentlemen at the front door, to the bartenders and waiters, to the front desk personnel, to the concierge, to the housekeeping personnel we get excellent service.

Many rooms have been refreshed. The lobby has a cozy feel, staff is friendly. Just steps away from big city shopping, dining and entertainment. The only flaw in this hotel in my opinion is the breakfast dining. Take a pass on this and explore other dining options in the nearby area.

We loved the old world charm of this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and the location is excellent for walking around town. We've spent several weekends at The Talbot and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to our friends.
